Cops can be sneaky but guess what...if you were driving in a car with your family and some asshat cuts you off or damn near drives you off the road you'd wish they'd be around and thankfully they are and it's people like you who keep them busy
That's a truly dangerous situation, and one that's much different than going 82 in a straight line with [presumed] minimal traffic. Agreed, glad the cops are there to reign in the ones that cause accidents.
I get pissed, too, when some ******** is running in and out of traffic -- that's just asking for it and I hope their *** gets nailed for being stupid. Driving down a country road or empty freeway, however, is a different animal.
See you miss the point, even 1 single vehicle accident that results in a death is to many.
True. But, I posit you this:
Slow or oblivious driving causes tons of accidents but doesn't get reported. Speed, fast or slow, isn't necessarily the cause of accidents....it's how you're driving relative to other people, how many other people are around, your decision making or lack there of, etc that causes accidents.
If you get a ticket for breaking the law, tough *******, why come moaning about it here. And I do have a lot of respect for the cops - when I see a bike cop pointing his laser in my manor I'm happy to see him. Lets see how much you hate them next time some weirdo's trying to bust in your house at 3am or some careless idiots cause a huge fug up on the freeway at 6'o clock and you're trying to get home to see your family.
I'm not saying I've never speeded, and I'm not supporting the argument that speed is the cause of all accidents, and I did do some pretty dumb things on the road in my late teens, but getting busted in a fair game (and it is a game) then complaining to us about your ticket and slagging off cops just makes you look stupid
/RANT
no one is complaining about getting caught here we pay the fines and move on but we just tell the stories and talk about our opinions on if its fair. Each time is different and we enjoy talking to each other about it. Can't be that stupid if it goes out 4 pages. Sell your car,buy a 92 ford contour, go play some bingo and let us talk about life in the fast lane.

I just know that when I was 16-17 (about 10 years ago) I received my share of speeding tickets. And, for a young person, it can create a dislike of policemen. Why? There I was working at K-Mart for minimum wage, about 20-25 hours a week (b/c of school), and a cop would get me for 10 over the limit.
You broke the law and got caught, more than once by your own admission. Take your medicine. The cops didn't press the gas pedal for you.
Quit whining like a little female dog.
You need to get some newly elected officials in your state. If the jails are that vacant in Hawaii that they need to arrest speeders who go 30 over the limit and classify them as criminals (Misdemeanor) and the work load in the local Pct is that slow that they can process a 5 hour arrest (Average time to process a person) something is wrong with the way they are running things in the Aloha state.
The crack down came after several accidents, some with fatalities, caused by kids that lower their car, typically ricers, then over-build the motor with no work to the suspension or brakes. Then, like the brain trusts that they are, race the cars on the freeway.
Just picked one up on Sunday from Barney Fife in a very small town in the Atlanta metro area. I was asked if I knew why I was being pulled over and I responded with...probably speeding (63mph in a 45 zone). I asked to see the laser read out and was promptly denied in an extremely sarcastic way...I don't have to show you anything! How about a little common courtesy, kill your elitist sarcasm and don't be such a jerk! This was not at all prompted on my part and I completely understand that I broke the law and he has to uphold the law but talking down to someone with an authoritative demeanor is not called for! He did advise me that he photographed the laser read out on his dash cam and for a price, through the PD, I could receive a copy if I wanted to see the reading. I did not respond, signed the ticket and fired up the vette. Just as I was taking off the parking brake I hear, in that sarcastic tone...have a nice day and drive carefully!!!! Sorry but I had to vent.
