All i got to say is i would of had a good laugh if that was me in that situation.
My 97 RS Camaro ( v6 3.8L 200hp ) blew a grand am out the water when i raced one so. I dont care how fast people say the car is it will never compete with a car like a corvette.

i know its a 4 banger because i asked to look at the engine and he let me. its stock right down to the air filter. he didn't even want to look under the hood of the vette, he believed me when i told him it was slow. this could be interesting lol...i could make $100+ in less than a minute.

i know exactly how you feel since im still in high school too, everybody thinks they know everything about the corvette and that its just another car, they think all their cars are soooooo much faster and they could blow me out the water

lol i had something similar. I graduated last year and this kid came up to me tellin me how good mine sounded. I told him i had muffler eliminators and he said he want to do that to his grand am. he said he had like a 4.2? I dont remember for sure but it was a 6 not a 4. I just looked at him and said are you serious? he said "yeah dude its a big motor it sounds sick!"

Perfect idea, you'll have a blast at the track, it won't cost too much so no excuses from the other guy, you'll go home with a little extra dough, and most importantly you'll never have to hear how fast his grand am is ever again.

Amazing...
There was a kid outside the local supermarket a few weeks ago maybe 13 years old- I parked the C-4 and was walking in the store and he says: "Hey Mister, what kind of car is that?" I was like, "Uhhh- it's a Corvette"- looking to see if he was serious. He says: "is it old?" I just said: "well, it's an 86". He says: "is it fast?" I said: "yep, pretty fast" Then he says: "It looks good". I told him "Thanks, I appreciate it" and walked on in the store... at first I was thinking "what a dumb kid", but then I realized, I STILL don't know by sight all the cars back 23 years from when I was 12 years old. I could have identified a Vette though- guaranteed.

i wouldn't race him, he'd get pissed from being embar *** ed, might screw with your car at school in while your in class. just take em' for a ride, then he'd follow you around like a puppy.

Trust me.... Grand Ams are complete junk. 4cyl or 6cyl. complete junk. Not fast by any stretch of the imagination. I had two of them, so I know. I used to have to haul a trailer behind them just to pick up all the parts that kept falling off. One was a brand new car back then. If it didn't rust off, it broke off or peeled off! 
Ask this guy if he has the high speed mirrors or the floatman valve installed in the torque thruster. If he says yes to any of that crap, you know you got a real winner there! Don't waste your time on these type of people as they're not real motorheads. You've got the quicker car for sure. That's all you need to know. Stay safe and only run your Vette at a supervised track and not on any public streets.

Tell Him that he needs to stay in school another few years because he is still saying the words GrandAM and fast in the same sentence.
