Hay friz I hate to see you sell the 84 becous I own one and you were such a good
spokesman for them and a great tech. rep on the missfire I mean crossfire inj. (I cansay that cous I own one) Well good luck with the LT1 live free and Drive hard!
Thanks.
I'll still chime in on their behalf every now and then, and hopefully pass on what I learned along the way so it can help others who own them. I have a good friend that is interested in the car, so I may still have visitation rights after it leaves my garage. It's tax time, and he's having trouble clearing it with the Mrs. I suspect it will happen, so he's getting first crack at the car.
I do need to get it sold fairly soon so I can start paying back "1st National Bank of Frizlefrak" for the Polo.
nice ride you have there friz....probably going to be hard to part with the 84 huh? I almost traded my 84 for a 93 black rose...if the trans went out, but it just needed a service so I decided to keep it..congrats on your purchase the car looks clean and well cared for...
Not for getting the Polo, that's fine, but for getting rid of the '84.
That's why I'm hoping my buddy gets it. I know he'll take care of it and I can see it on the weekends. He's getting a special deal on the car for that reason. He emailed me last night and said the Mrs. is coming around. I'd say it'll follow him home by next weekend.
Man I need to get me some more tax deductions by the looks of this. What a treat friz, beautiful car! I say you keep your current stable. Let me know when you guys want to get together. Unfortunately wont be making the Mission show as Im stuck working. Be seeing you on the twisties!
Yes....it followed me home. The seller and I settled on a price, made it to the bank before closing time, and sealed the deal. I even gave her a quick bath while I still had some daylight. So without further ado......
Think they're getting along OK? I hope I don't walk out in the garage and see them fighting like....well, cats and dogs.
I'm sure I'll have a million questions from the LT1 crowd in the coming weeks and months. My first observations are that a lot changed in 11 years. The 95 is way more refined than the brutal 84. The 95 needs tires badly so I can't really assess how it handles yet, but the 84 seems to handle better. Acceleration is quite similar between the two....up to about 4000 RPM.....and then the 95 will seriously walk the 84 all the way to redline.
And yes....as soon as it goes to the tire shop, the rims will be put on the correct side. As I said, it needs tires badly...and probably an alignment as well. And I've gotta call Adam Boca and get it insured and off my State Farm policy. So now you guys know how I spent my bonus check this year....
