true 348-409 but i didn't want to muddy the waters..lol Actually the 348-409 were stump pulling torque monsters..
when I bought it the guy that owned it said.. "It dont run very good and it gets terrible gas mileage, it barely idles at all" lol.. It was a 409 with 2 carter 4 bbls and a solid lifter cam that hadnt been touched in about 10 years. I bought the car for 150 bucks..
One good tuneup later those polyglass gt 70's didnt stand a chance.
But I think the last year for the 409 was 64 or 65..
and yes Virginia 409's went road racing.. just not in corvettes in the 80's
Sorry history lesson over.. carry on.
it was 65 but not for very long my dad had a '65 Impala SS with a 409 until it sucked a valve they were known for that I guess at any rate someone stole the engine while we were on vacation and the car went on down the road. The '65 409 Impala is on my car bucket list but it's a long ways down. I have a few more Olds' I want ahead of it
Yah brother yours is nice.
But yours is clean for showing mine is clean for driveing meaning no waxxing not just cleaned i did how ever just take the car cover off of it
These are 14.2 Mega pixels of HD photos
This weekend ill take her to the car wash and wax her up "if it's not to hot"
And get you some show ready pictures.
Not gonna lie and say it's 100% Perfect cause no paint job is but it is a close 99.99% But like my buddy Ch@0s would say it's a 10 yearold show car paint job on a 23 yearold car.
