The mice have likely had a *ahem*field day with all the interior and underhood wiring, but I wish you guys well.
The interior certainly looks better than I'd imagined, I'll give it that.
Be sure and post pics and keep us posted.
I am getting out to it Thursday, with a battery and making sure aside from starting that electronics are functional. That is my one condition before handing over cash. I have picked through this car and I'm comfortable with the deal, it is a gamble though for sure.
few more shots
George the previous owner, RIP buddy
Parts in the back, entire clutch/pressure plate, distributor, rotor, plugs and belt. I'll be trying to run this car w/o doing the clutch initially to see whats going on.
Please check all the associated intake related parts carefully. Somebody removed the accordion connection between the air filter and the throttle body. Coming from someone who works in Aerospace, I'm telling you, that's a big red flag, because of FOD or Foreign Object Damage. Make sure the backside of the air filter has nothing on it. I'd also open up the throttle blades and apply a vacuum cleaner to it to suck anything out, that might have gotten in there.

Dude I nearly crapped myself when I realized that last night. I poked around and will do exactly what you have suggested. My guess is the snorkel thingy has critters. The intake side looks untouched but we will be sure to do that!
I think you got a heck of a deal. Nice inside, Dana 44 and the 6 speed add up to about what you paid. The rest of the car is a bonus. When my car was apart for body work, it had the same gas in it for 8 months and it was no problem. After 2 years, dont be shocked if the fuel pump is locked up. You never know though, it may start right up. Keep us posted.
It's only rwo years, not twenty two. I agree on the critters dining on the plastics and foam etc, but the car should be able to move and be flatbedded to its new home for further inspection. If the vette can be purchased cheaply enough, go for it!

The fuel rail cover's missing, too. I wonder if most (if not all) of the refrigerant has leaked out of the A/C compressor and lines due to dry seals?
Looks like you're looking at fresh upper and lower radiator hoses and possibly a handful of vacuum lines. EGR valve could possibly be kaput, too. You definitely got your work cut out for you.
I just bought my 93 six speed 6 months ago. Like yours, it had been sitting for a while (9 months). Mouse nest between Radiator and AC heat exchanger made it run hot. shop vac solved that problem!
Clutch slave had deteriorated. Easy replacement.
Convertible top was shot- not applicable in your case!!
wheel bearings needed replacement. DIY.
Window Sweeps needed replacing. $45.00
GAS CAP failed emissions!! $8.00 fix.
The sound of an LT1 singing for the first time in ages....PRICELESS!
You might plan on a new alternator, too! (based on the pic).
Its in the hatch area.
I'm having AAA tow this badboy home. Any tips? I was going to do it myself but its free and the winch would probably be handy. I just fear them destroying the front end but it was towed via AAA to get it here in the 1st place.
I'm kinda startin to get geeked the offer wasn't official until a few minutes ago. This car seriously found me. I had no plans this week or ever to buy a C4 vette. The story got to me, the situation is right the price is rightish... I believe within one month I'll be doing smokey burnouts in this thing. It won't be totally clean yet but mechanically sound.

Don't assume that they did it right the first time towing, or if they did, that the same intelligent driver will tow it this time. there are techniques for towing that you can find posted on the internet that will keep the tow truck driver from damaging the front end.
Don't let him put the tow hooks around suspension components, for instance. there are towing 'eyes' that should be used but they're pretty far under the car.
Good Luck!
Although I hate to see this happen to any vette...worst case, if it turns out to be a bear to restore you can always part it out, some parts on the 96 were unique to that year and are getting hard to find. You'll easily make your money back plus more in parting, but I really hope to see this car restored!

Its not a 96.
OP said 94. Plus if it were a 96, it'd have an LT4, and this debate wouldn't exist.

I believe we have all, at one time or another, bought a car on impulse for similar reasons. Bring her back to life, and have fun doing it. Like Steveman said....whaddya have to lose other than time and money?
J/K....I think you'll have her back on the road soon. Nothing in your pics looks scary, but DO vacuum out that throttle body before you try to light her off. Granular stuff is not your engine's friend.
