where is the negative cable conect to the car. my is from the negative terminal in the battery to the uper part of the alternator.
i dont think that go there.
can someone tell me where the cable connect. to the car
I have a picture of the cable but I just dont know how to upload photos to the forum
That will work BUT it will cause problems later. I prefer to connect the negative to a bolt that connects the bell-housing to the engine and then another cable to the frame.
GM connected the neg batt cable in different places depending on what year C4 and since you don't state what year your vette is, I don't see how we can help you. On later C4's, the neg cable did get connected to the alternator bracket by GM.
I'll guess yours is an early 1986. Perimeter valve cover bolts means iron heads, details are different from my 85 which leaves 86E. If I am correct your primary ground should be from the battery to the bell housing bolt at 1 o:clock. I am not sure why you are asking the question but will suggest you need some serious repair work on your electrical wiring before you have a fire.

The bellhousing is part of the transmission that bolts to the back of the engine block.
The negative battery cable is supposed to connect to one of the bolts there.
On my 85, if i remember right, it connected to a big bolt right above the oil filter next to the oil temperature sensor. You could go there, the engine is a solid ground.
