Congrats, I know just how you feel - your results mimic mine (accept your a couple tenths quicker before & after). These headers are the best bang-for-the buck that I know of, for our cars.

I didn't get any codes. Yes, there are threaded holes for AIR and O2 sensors. I had to lengthen the wires to the downstream sensor to make it reach.

Besides adding "Power Tuning", the Hypertech allows you to firm up shifts, adjust shift points and rev limiter with auto trans. You can also adjust the temperature at which your cooling fan turns on and off. If you change your rear gears, the Hypertech can correct the speedometer. These are the main benefits. My car dropped about 2 tenths of a second in the 1/4 mile with Hypertech tuning. Most of the improvement was in the first 1/8 mile. Here are some time slips to give you a good idea of what to expect.

1994 Corvette; automatic trans, performance axle ratio (3.07:1), 1.6:1 roller rocker arms, open air box. I was car #205 on this day.

Installed Hypertech tuning (same track/same day).

Then I installed the OBX headers and went back on a different day (Hypertech tuning still installed) and this was the results. I spun the tires at launch, on the 2nd pass. Hence the slower 60ft time and ET. I was car #201 on this day.

About 4 tenths quicker with the headers.

Thank you for your effort of posting your times. The headers gave me the exact same improvement of 4 tenths.

Agreed. The OBX headers were not available when I was in the market. The EM headers that I purchased cost me around $770 said and done and were not a direct fit. Clearancing one of the primary tubes had to be done as it was hitting the upper control arm. For that kind of $ I was very disappointed. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Frankenstein exhaust system.

I just got my OBX headers in and I will say that the quality is perfect. The little resonators are just that..........the worlds smallest glass pack. I picked up a Magnaflow stainless steel universal center muffler for a hundred bucks at Advance auto parts. It's actually a "X-Pipe" muffler and it's a straight through design. I got the Corsa mufflers from a forum member Justin, (StealthLT4). Thanks Justin for a great price. Thanks forum members for all the great information needed to make an informed decision. I owe you all a beer.

I'll have about $900 in my exhaust when done. That's cheaper than many cat-back systems and I got headers. Here's a few pics:

How are these holding up for people that have had them?

Ill be looking into headers+y-pipe shortly and I'm always skeptical of "too good to be true" prices

I just got these but i can say the welds look perfect. The flange is 3/8" stainless and the headers are stainless also. What's not to hold up.....plus, I just filled out my "Lifetime Warranty" card to send in. Everything's covered, even "racing" use. But you're right, it does seem too good to be true. Maybe we've been paying a "Tax" on the one's that we're familiar with.

I have no doubt on that last part. I guess it's sad how used to the corvette tax i am.

Since pricing is hedman territory and people have had bad experiences with those, I'm kind of skeptical.I know money doesn't always relate to quality, but it seems like thats been the case for me.

These are not in the same class as Hedman, more like SS Works and ARH long tubes

My OBX headers are on a 1985. I used 2 spacers that were the same width of the stock manifold and use the stock header bolt in that spot. The only one that I have not figured out yet is the lower bracket on the alternator. I not that concerned about that one as the other ones give it plenty of support. The spacer on the right side worked out perfect using a stock bolt in its place. I used Spectre Lockwire 1 " header bolts for the rest. they use a 7/16 wrench or a 3/16 Allen socket for the tight spots. Make sure you leave the headers loose on the right side so you can get the starter back in. I also wrapped the fuel lines with heat wrap where they seemed to be close to the header. Hope this helps.

On my LT1 install, I made (3) 1.400" spacers out of tubing to place the alternator and dipstick brackets in there original locations. I ended up only using two of the spacers, as I decided to bend the front (shorter) alternator bracket instead of using a spacer. I could mail my spare to you (crzydrummer14), if you'd like. Where possible, I used stainless steel allen-head bolts, for the most clearance possible. I couldn't find the longer ones at my local hardware store, so I used hex-head (stainless steel) bolts in (2) places.

Here is a picture showing how I bent the front alternator bracket.

Here is a picture showing the rear alternator bracket (1.400") spacer.

I had to dent the pipe to make clearance for the bracket here.

And here's the dipstick with a spacer placing it in stock location.

Hope this helps.

How did the Installation go? I'm getting ready to install mine.Any issues with Alt. / AC Comp. Brackets etc. needed?
Thanx in advance I'm trying to do as much as I can up front to eliminate down time as it's my Daily Driver. And did you clamp them to existing exhaust or have to weld them?

Thanx c4speed.
