No they are made to go with your stock exhaust Chris.

Thanks! I was just curious about having 2 dissimilar metals welded to each other...

FYI Those so-called "catalytic converters" are junk. I've had mine for about 2 months now and the passenger side one started rattling. Had to take the entire exhaust off and get straight pipes made to put in their place. Other than that my OBX headers are perfect so far!

Are you talking about the two little kind of like resonator things ? They are not Catalyic converters or did you get a OBX setup with them, didn't know OBX had them for the C4. Can't see why you had to take the entire exhaust off ?

You have to use pipe sealer with them or they will be noisy. Mine sound great after 4 months use. I love the sound with the stock exhaust.

So you are saying that girvin02 is BS in his statement ? The night I ran 13.6 it was hotter then He!! my temp was 233 so I would think a tenth is something you could acomplish with just a better RT. So yes I am still hopping for .04 wish me luck not a Kabash.

No I got what is pictured. They just seem to me like wannabe catalytic converters just so if a cop looks under your car he'll see the bulges and assume that's what they are. Anyways I had to drop the whole exhaust because the entire exhaust is welded except for that section, which is slip-on. So I have no back-and-forth play to "slip" that section off.

If you look inside the I guess what we will call resonator.. there is a metal grating that goes around the inner wall. That is what started to rattle and I couldn't find a way to get that metal out to stop the noise, so I just had an exhaust shop make me exact same size straight pipes and put those in their place.

Sorry for the late response but I figure this information is probably appreciated by someone.

besides hp difference, theres also a huge decrease in weight. especially if the resonators are removed.

heres a pic of my setup, recommend these headers to anyone, good fit except i had to clean up the threads for the air tubes and i didnt know when i bought them but they need to be welded. i opted to install an x-pipe while i was in there and remove the resonator and left oem mufflers. the cats and resonator must weigh 90 lbs

the sound is awesome, sounds a little better than stock at idle and cruising, sounds insane when i get on it. i got an auto and the exhaust forces me to drive around shifting 1 2 and D. no exhaust drone what so ever.

Ok, so are those cats or are they resonators? Will your car pass emissions with these on them (just sniffer emissions)... They look awesome!!!

They are not cats, my mechanic called them spark arestors.I am under 5,000 miles a year so in my state I am exempt from emissions.

Crusinartvette, I was right I got a 4/10 improvement with the headers went from 13.6 to a 13.2 to me a 4/10 was worth it, a lot spend more to get that.

Good jump on the time with the headers. The UPS man is delivering mine on Monday. I've just got a Magnaflow 12460 X-pipe muffler for the middle of mine and some fine Corsa mufflers off StealthLT4 here on the forum. (The car that CF is building) One piece at a time. That should complete the exhaust. Now to get off my dead butt and get the engine done. I'll settle for around 500 HP and 500 TQ. I'm easy.
