Default 93 corvette

recently bought a red 89 and repaired all problems. Love the car and challenge of restoring to factory operational conditions. My wife who didnt want the car has taken it over. I have found a 93 Black rose with white interior. This car looks beautiful from internet pictures. Does anyone out there have one this color or seen one? is it really as pretty as it appears in pictures? What common problems are there with a 93?

Welcome. The best thing you can do to get your answer is to use the search funtion here. There's a ton of info, and your question is a common one. If you can't find a particular answer, post a specific question, and someone here will be sure to assist.

You're wise to research before buying. Not doing that could end up costing you much more that you bargained for.

Good luck.

I have a 92 Black Rose coupe. I regularly get comments and compliments on the color from Corvette and non-Corvette people. It the sun it is especially eye catching. One problem is opti-spark failure due to it getting wet, either from water pump failure, which is right above the opti, or from pressure washing the front of the engine. Otherwise, it is a C4 Corvette with the regular problems.

Black Rose is a beautiful color and you won't see many of them like other colors so the car will get noticed where ever you go. My 93 has been almost trouble free and the few problems have been very minor.

i put $500.00 on the car to hold for financing approval. haven't figured out how i am going to get the car from Illinois to ga. cant wait to see the car in person and drive home. got approval of wife and both kids before i bought it.

the thread above talks about opti spark failure due to pressure washing engine. i have to keep my engines clean, ocd!!! will this kill the opti spark every time i wash the engine? if so this could get expensive, for me!!!

Don't power wash it just use Simple Green, rags and elbow grease. That's what I've done the last three years and the engine looks good. Once it's clean it doesn't take much work to keep it that way unless your doing a lot of off roading with your vette.

I don't like pressure washing any motor at all. Not even my truck...
R.I.P. truck

Anyways...
What was the final price and how many miles?
I really like the Black Rose color. Even at night you can see the color shift a little bit off the street lamps. It's a very eye catching color.

White interior would be nice, but I would worry about keeping it clean. Keep a pair of "car shoes" in the storage compartment and a plastic bag to put your nasty dirty walking shoes in.

14000 with 48000 miles

i am a little concerned about keeping the seats and door panels clean and stain free, especially since this will be my wifes car. the carpet is black, so not too worried about the floors.

tell me more about how you keep the engine clean with simple green....i have always used purple power and a lot of water, i am a nut when it comes to clean engines. i destroyed a knock sensor in her 02 yukon. other than that no damage. if there are any tricks i can do to protect the opti spark unit even if it includes removeing and modifying i will do

i just returned from Ill with the car. This is a beautiful color combination. tires are out of balance and the sport seats are inoperative. but i am totally pleased with the car drove it 850 miles 27 mpg, no problems.

AHHHH! YAAY! Congrats! Tire balance is an easy and quick trip to the shop!

The power seats can be tricky but there are plenty of write ups here on how to fix them!

Good luck with it! Pics please!? Im very interested in this color combo!

When you take it to a shop for the tire balancing make sure they know how to jack it up properly or you may end up with a couple of holes in the floor.

Take it to a reputable shop, or take the wheels off yourself and throw them in the back of the pickup. Young kids with floor jacks scare the bejeepers out of me.

Enjoy the new ride. n00bs have to post pics.

Yup, love that color combination. The only "major" thing which has gone wrong with my 93 is the OptiSparc, it wasn't too awful bad to replace. Keeping the white clean isn't bad either, let's face it your gonna be just as **** regardless of the color.
