Paid my registration fees, but couldn't get tags without a smog check. Probably should have non-op'ed it. It's far enough out of registration the police can impound it if I'm stopped!

"Statement of facts". It's a blank sheet of paper except at the bottom
where you sign under penalty of perjury. I used it to transfer my late wife's
C4 to me. Attached a copy of the death certificate and a copy of her
will, and (I think) a smog certificate. About 20 days later I had a new
pink slip with my name on it.
I used it another time when I sold a '70 Datsun pick-up to a a kid who
never completed the transfer.

The shop will check to see if they can get something similar locally, otherwise I'll have to get a few days worth & mail them up so they can road test it.

Ok I got a question. What problems are you encountering with this new motor in DMV? I assume, you have all the C.A.R.B. documentation, the cats are in place, you do have mufflers, and cars has been road tested.
You mention fail smog, Did the Vette fail the visual or the sniffer? I don't think that engine requires a sniffer (newer than 2001).
You have been thru hell with this EROD kit. You started this in November 2011, and it is not done yet. Would it has been cheaper to buy a C5 Z06?

The swap is just about done, just a few sensors & fine tuning and road testing needed. We haven't figured out the AC system fitment and are debating whether to put that off till the car comes home.
The next step is to get it home and inspected by a BAR referee. He'll check the installation against the instructions and the Executive Order & if happy, will approve it and provide a sticker documenting the smog test targets (or something along those lines) for future smog tests.
The latest few posts are just about how to drive it home legally---it was supposed to be smogged & registered last October. I paid the registration fees but can't get the sticker without the smog test. I'd like to get a 60 day temporary operationg permit, but you can't get one of those without a smog check certificate of failure. As it stands today it looks like I'll have to move it around on single day permits, but I still have a few other options to explore.
Oh, and this project has nothing to do with making financial sense (or any sense, for that matter). It was my Dad's car & this is my response to the C4 noob discovery "what do you mean only 240 HP!??!!?"). Five years ago Stanford told me I had 3 years to live without treatment, I got the treatment, and playing with the vette is just an indulgence to celebrate still being around.

Wayne, unless I'm not understanding the above info, it looks like you have not decided where to mount your AC compressor. If that is correct, maybe I can help. On my build we ran into the same problem. After measuring and re-measuring several times they finally decided to mount the compressor on the right side of the engine bay. You should be able to see it in my pic. I only have about 1/8 of an inch clearance on the outside of the compressor but it does fit. The next trick was to find a pulley system that worked. They found one but it wasn't cheap. The pulleys, AC compressor and alternator cost just over $2,500, before labor. Let me know if you need more info.

1. Pace Performance Non-AC Drive #19155167;
2. AC added with a PAC-K10143R134; and,
3. a Dayco Belt.
That is all the info I could find from the limited info available to me. When the builder died and his company went BK I was not able to get access to my file which may have had more info in it. Hope this helps, but of course I'm not sure if the differences between your car and mine matter here. Good luck!
