Fitment with the AC box and windshield wiper motor are recurring issues in the threads I've read. Both have been discussed with the shop but kinda fall into the class of 'things that have to be faced when we see how things fit'. This is where working with a shop that has C4 swap experience helps. They have an LS C4 on hand & have done some test fittings in preperation for this swap. I'll ask about the AC box again, though, thanks.
One fitment issue that looms is the exhaust manifold. The one that comes with the EROD has the final output toward the rear whereas the normal C4 collector is in the center. If we have to use a different manifold it may be an issue during the CA BAR inspection.
Thank you, Cavi, I appreciate your support. I wish they were close enough I could make a pest of myself. It's probably better this way, though, shops usually charge more if you 'help'. This has been a very interactive project. We've been trading emails and talking on the phone a lot since May. They're doing the planning but have involved me in every important decision. I'm getting updates every couple of days & share what I can here.

i have been looking at the e-rod too. the H-pipe with the e-rod cats will need to be modded to fit and ls3 corvette exhaust manifolds will look like the way to go. in calif i think we still have to go to a referee to get it finaled even with a gm carb cert. if its factory ls3 exhaust manifolds and factory cats you will win if the H-pipe mod is very clean and location of cats is close to their original placment.
I suspect everything from the CATs back is ok from a smog point of view, but between the CATs & engine is subject to scrutiny. I have a copy of the Executive Order & have been assured by a couple of local dealerships it will pass easy---but you don't know 'til it's done. I'm hoping one of the closing posts of this thread will be "I passed the BAR". Check back in a month.
This cruise control was recommended on another forum & appears to be the only plug-and-play cruise option available for drive-by-wire LSX engine swaps.

The C5 or C6 wiper motor works and is smaller. Lerned that from a C4 owner that experimented with it.
Winter weather shut down the shop for a couple of days.
Fuel system mods are complete.
Wiring mods are ongoing.
The drive-by-wire pedal bracket that came with the EROD doesn't fit well in the C4 so, to minimize the number holes drilled, a new bracket is being fabbed.
The new TCU and cruise control module are in transit.
An old Polish friend dropped by my office last week & asked about the swap. When I told him about the weather he said 'Pah, that's nothing!' & forwarded a power point presentation he'd just received from Poland titled "zima w Rosji"...winter in Russia. I transfered a couple of images to my photobucket account to salt into recent posts.
I don't think I'm stretching the forum rules too badly by saying my swap is being done in the western hemisphere.
In fairness, I probably shouldn't have passed along that original ETA, we were all pretty fired up. It's a busy shop & a project like this has to be scheduled around other customer needs. The electrical and fuel system work they've been doing is important, but doesn't yield a lot of photo's for me to pass along. My feedback is "take the time you need" & I mean it. We're in contact once or twice a week & I'm happy as long as things are progressing.
