Statements that begin with a superfluous "So," (commonly when beginning to answer a question). A fairly recent phenomenon, but becoming quite pervasive.
And, pet peeve number one by far: Inappropriate use (and wretched overuse) of the word "like." I can't imagine how this imbecilic, valley-girl caricature ever became mainstream to the point that it's nearly ubiquitous, but it has, and it has persisted for more than a generation. It's a habit that makes most younger Americans sound stupid, even though many of them are anything but. Tiresome, to an extreme.
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned these word-interchange peeves yet:

In many states, as long as they don't share blood he'd be fine. I personally would feel there are enough people out there that I shouldn't even begin crossing those kinds of lines though.

Yes but you now have in laws. This way, your mom is also my mom.

So "Motor Trend" magazine has been wrong for decades?
The bottles in my garage say "motor oil."
Google the words "motor def" and you will see a reference to internal combustion. Dictionary.com says the same thing. Sorry amigo, it's an industry-accepted term.

I have several grammatical peeves but the worst is using an apostrophe for a plural. E.g.: I like burrito's. I mowed the lawn's.
A close 2nd place are those endless, run-on posts we see in here:
hi i jus got an 85 vett the tires look new they hav tread but i want to be sure they ar safe can anyone tell me how to find out i lookd but didnt find much thnks have a nice day :\
Makes me cross-eyed trying to read that crap.
But while secretly criticizing, I try to remember that just about everyone has at least one redeeming quality. Nobody is perfect, not even the experts

Folks on Craigslist that want to sell a vehicle but somehow don't have the title....usually followed by the words "But I can get it".
My pet peeve has to do with the way people drive. When two cars are side by side in parallel lanes, and one car needs to merge -- they speed up, cut in front (of me), and hit their brakes. Wouldn't it make more sense to slow down and then tuck in behind me?
