Gas should be OK.
To wit; My car sat in my garage since early November, this year. I got it out for the first time just over a week ago, so that is just under 6 months it sat. Fired on the first compression stoke and ran like a champ. I couldn't tell any diff when I filled the tank for the first time (yesterday) and drove it afterward.
Your big problem is that you only see things your way. You project here and in many of the posts you put out that only your advice is the true corner stone and correct answer because of the background you say you have. You can't take anyone else's replies as helpful to members here as you get your ego hurt to easily. There are 1000's of good and useful hints to anyone on this forum. Too bad you don't get it or are just to stubborn to admit you can be wrong. As you sometimes most certainly are. Maybe listen to others here, read the entire posts, and try to figure out why others have different advice than you instead of always trying to be Mr. Know It All. What you say "you actually know what works" is total bullshit and condescending to the rest of us who try to give advice. Maybe we should all check in with you first from now on so we can all agree on only your replies. You seem to make quite a few assumptions yourself. Just don't assume we all agree with you.
If you use your eyeballs (and try to use some brain, as well), you'll note that I provided a plethora of evidence, real world examples, photos, videos and so on to back up my points. I wonder if you even bothered to look at any of those things?
What have you provided? Horse ****.
34 posts into your illustrious membership, you're here for one reason and one reason only; to stir the pot and contribute nothing meaningful.

Is that what you call your contributions? Got it.
Again, as was noted above, you seem to have the ability to know all and see all.
I read through what I hoped would be an interesting thread. Unfortunately, to me, it seemed your contributions derailed what would be an interesting discussion. Hence my agreeing with the previous poster.
Well, it was an interesting conversation filled w/fact and demonstrations from me...and religion, from 4-speed -made up stuff that doesn't do anything, or will actually hurt your car. So you can either listen to someone who has 30+ years of experience with this topic specifically and who provides proof of that which he claims.....OR, you can take "advice" from 4-speed -someone who doesn't believe water comes from a running engine.... and park your car on tarps, carpet squares -whatever, start it every week for 5 minutes....and "pray" that it works out for you. Either way, all the advice is there for you to take, w/o ****-stirring posts from you.
I most definitely do not "know it all", as you and others like to occasionally claim when they know that they're wrong...but when it comes to this topic? I know more than you. Here is a bit from earlier that I doubt that you read (or absorbed).

So I actually know what works, vs. what is treating psychology. IE, "It makes ME feel good to put carpet under my tires" -which accomplishes nothing meaningful.
Whenever I can, I cite the most "expert" source that I can find. In the roof thread, that was the engineer of the car. In that thread, it wasn't my advice/opinion/experience that I was sharing...it was that of the guy who oversaw the car's development! As I just said, if I could cite him re: winterization, I would, but he hasn't written a book about that. SO I go to the next most expert source and between you and I....I'm sorry, but that's me. I have way, WAY more experience than you do so yeah, it actually is the more correct answer "because of the experience that I have". I'm sorry that you don't like that, but that is the case. I have more experience than you do re: cars/maintenance/vehicles etc. You could learn a thing here from me, or you could get all butt-hurt and bitch and argue with me. Your choice.
Your choice, too. There has been quite a lot covered and demonstrated in this thread that is totally pertinent to winter storage advice. You could learn a thing...or you can call the good information that's been provided, "derailed", and stuff your head in the sand. Your choice.
BTW, if you don't like folks "derailing" threads with "irrelevant" posts, I gotta ask: WTF were YOU doing in post 102? You revived an old thread to......what?
Oh wait...I know:

I leave multiple injected vehicles sitting for months at a time in winter. My C4 often sits for periods in excess of 6 months. I've never, ever, had a problem as a result, with any of these vehicles. I do use maintenance chargers on the batteries, but that's all.
I did, however, have a carbureted motorcycle that I could not let it sit for more than two weeks without the pilot jets clogging. I got so tired of having to clean out the carbs nearly every time I wanted to ride it that I sold it and am damned glad it's gone.
