I would suggest waiting until one comes along loaded the way you want...

It took me 5 months to find mine back in 98, but I got one loaded with every option I wanted except for sport seats... I can add those later and it will cost me, but as a trade off I took one that the paint was a little rough on (in the paint shop now)... I figured it was easier/cheaper to paint than to add all the options I wanted to a stripped car...

But I feel your frustration... Now that I have a daily driver I want a 6spd/LT4, and have been so frustrated with what's out there for sale that I was even considering moving back a year to a 95 6psd/LT1... When I was disappointed there also, I then considered moving to the dark side (98-99 C5) just to have a 6spd again...

C4s are old enough now that it's going to be hard to find one in excellent shape for sale...

But.... But, it's really going to bother you if you buy this one and find another one 6 months from now that's "perfect" in how you envisioned "your" Corvette...

Take your time and get what you want from the start, or at least as close to it as you can... I wouldn't worry about the low mileage as much as I would about desired equipment content...

I recentyly bought my 93 coupe with 40,000 miles on it back in October 2002 I paid 17,500 for it and it is fully loaded 6spd, fx-3 etc. and it is was in excellent condition. I think 17.500 for a low mileage 95 vette is a good price, I bought mine because I knew it had been garaged kept and I would of paid up to 21000 for it because I usually buy a vette depending on condition and if it has what I am looking for not so much trying to finding a cheap one or a great deal, I know poeple who have had bad experiences buying on price alone. Good Luck and hopefully you can get 15.500 for the car...

price sounds fine but its not the car you are looking for. find a car with all the equipment you want and buy that one. personaly i want a car with every option that was offered. its cheaper then adding stuff. you can buy a loaded car for close to the same price as a base car. why not do it? keep looking, you will find the right car.

Personally I would pass on it, and wait for a car with more options.. Also like others have said, offer him $15k or so if you do really want this car :yesnod:

:iagree: As the old saying goes “You get what you pay for" Good Low mileage cars are going to bring more money. I've noticed from several posts a good low mile C4 is getting harder to find. It all depends on what you want. You can find cheaper cars but most of the time the condition it going be of less quality. If the options matter I would keep looking. Good luck with which ever way you decided to go.

I don't think NADA reflects the market price very well,
:iagree:

The Kelly Blue Book is much more in line with todays market, regardless of the location. Here is the value based on EXCELLENT condition:

Engine: V8 5.7 Liter
Trans: Automatic
Drive: Rear Wheel Drive
Mileage: 17,000
Equipment
Air Conditioning
Power Steering
Power Windows
Power Door Locks
Tilt Wheel
Cruise Control
AM/FM Stereo
Cassette
Dual Front Air Bags
ABS (4-Wheel)
Leather
Alloy Wheels

Consumer Rated Condition: Excellent
"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks great, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. It should pass a smog inspection. The engine compartment should be clean, with no fluid leaks. The paint is glossy and the body and interior are free of any wear or visible defects. There is no rust. The tires are the proper size and match and are new or nearly new. A clean title history is assumed. This is an exceptional vehicle.

Private Party Value $12,975
Private Party value represents what you might expect to pay for a used car when purchasing from a private party. It may also represent the value you might expect to receive when selling your own used car to another private party.

Private Party Value $12,975
I will buy it for $12975, I can use a second 95 coupe. I think $15000 is more realistic though. :auto:

NADA is based on Dealer sales, so they may seem high but a lot of time dealers have top dollar prices. Anyways, I don't trust KBB, they said my truck is worth $5900, its worth double that all day long. If they are so far off on one value then that doesn;t give me confidence in the rest of their values.

When looking at bunch cars over a period of time, you will get a good feel for what the current market is. Some cars will sit and some will sell quickly. A car is only worth what someone will pay for it.

KBB is a not even close to market. I have a friend that is a Insurance adjuster and we just talked about this the other day. I asked what they use to value cars for pay offs and what is close to market. He said they rely on NADA along with using the Autotrader to see what the going market brings. KBB :nonod:

If you have been searching dilligently for some time. And you know what you like, and what you want to spend ... I would say measure it from your particular other findings/test drives, ect. Do not just settle but perhaps somewhere in the middle.

I do not have sport seats in the 96 that I ordered. Thats right I choose them. Also I also chose the base suspension over the adjustable ... After a second I decide on the more moderately priced RPO Z51. (and the requied G92)

If you like the g92 it can go in yours. And there are great shocks and bars available.

I actually like the milage mark on that one.

If it is the color you like ... go for it!

I'm sure that professionals due use the NADA, but as a private person, the KBB seems in line with the market. KBB also has a section that covers dealer/retail prices, but that isn't what this thread was about. Many people think there cars are worth more than they can actually get for them today.

That's not to say the car wont fair better when the economy turns around, but there is a glut of new and used cars out there right now, and the NADA is at the top of the scale. KBB might be a little low, but they are much closer in today's market. If you don't believe it fine, but from my own personal experience, I can tell you that it might sell at NADA prices, but it will take a long time.
