i've always had cool cars, and i've never had a problem...
but i've never had to rely on the cars either... it's usually just a clincher or a bonus. it never has hurt my chances though, hahaha.
most women are oblivious to their surroundings when they are driving anyway. they're struggling to keep from running into stuff and keep it between the lines... now, you might be able to get the passengers attention. LOL
you gotta find the right kind of girl too. if the girl can't appreciate a cool car then i don't want her anyway (for long term that is, LOL). she would never understand (or allow  ) all the $$$ i have dropped/will drop on my vehicles and garage and tools and etc etc etc.
we all know vettes are classic and all american. vettes will never go out of style... that's like saying khaki pants and a button up shirt are out of style. they just might not be THE hot thing at the time. i'm not trying to pick up 14-20 year old girls anyway, and they're the ones most into the import thing.
I am shocked that the majority of the resposnes are "No". My Corvette tests my faith for my fiancee on a regular basis. I posted something a few weeks back where i got pulled over by some chicks who wanted to party. Sometimes being engaged can present temptations. Lots of times i hear a scream or i have had a kiss blown to me. I think its a combination of the car and the driver. The car gets their attention (I think convertibles especislly, chicks dig them) but if the driver is showing shyness or low self esteem chicks dont like that. I have a healthy self esteem so i think the car has them look and my look back gets them. Age is another thing. I am 26. Girls around my age like these types of cars. I think the younger generation like 16-22 or so is really into the imports. People near my age appreciate a corvette. On a side not i decided i am keeping my C4 vert for a long long time. i see so many C5's now that they just look likme an every day car to me. You dont se many C4 verts in mint shape and i think it adds appeal. I have had people ask me what kind of car it is and if its european. I laugh when they say that but it still gets mistaken for a brand new or new car. The vette helps with chicks though. I also have an Acura CL and i get little to no attention in it. You need 5.7 liters of self esteem to go with that 5.7 liter engine then you will see your car is a babe magnet.
I have found that most Corvettes, unless they are brand spankin' new, are "Middle-Aged White Man Magnets". Which, unfortunately, does not help me in the least....
My girlfriend did not even bat an eye at my car the first time I picked her up for a date. No "nice car" or "oooh, a Corvette, I've never ridden in one of those". I think maybe all she said was "How am I supposed to get out of this thing?", or "this sure is bumpy". Currently though, I have at least managed to get a "I like your car because it's pretty" out of her
I think the female response to our cars depends on where you live. Here in the South, Corvettes, especially older ones, are sometimes mistakenly lumped into the "Redneck Car" category with F-bodies. Some of that is due to the increasing number of rednecks I see driving around in red clay-covered, beat down L-98s. In fact, one of our company's VPs bought a brand new red C5 a couple of years ago, and his wife didn't like it because she thought it was a "redneck car". She was also probably worried it was a mid-life crisis car, too.
The hot cars down here are riced out imports, big-butt pickup trucks, and any new SUV. If you can't pick up chicks in a new Jeep Grand Cherokee down here, you must be butt ugly.
yeah, i was soooo proud of mine when i got i emailed like 8 pics to my girlfriend and she never said a thing except for, "oh, cool" i was at her house last week and couldn't find one of the damn photos saved on her computer! :mad

Hmm..I would think 5.7 liters of self esteem could easily be mistaken for COCKINESS! But..I guess a lot of girls like to date cocky guys...then complain about dating them.
Also, for Bogus,
No, I wouldn't date em, but they'd sure be fun to take home for a night ;)
Can I get an amen in heeea?!?! :D
I think so!! I have actually had women come up to me just to talk about it! It espacially helps break the stereotype of a Vette owner as I am 6'4" and there is no way for me to get out gracefully. That always gets them......they want to know why I would drive something so hard to get in and out of, I tell them you can't explain it, you just have to feel it!.....and that gets them in my car.......Works as a great icebreaker for me!!!
I'll be 56 in a couple weeks and the same day I bought my Vette, a sweet young thing thought it was so cool and begged for a ride. I said OK, she jumped in and away we went. Drove around for about 30 minutes and I suggested we go to my house to get something to eat. She quickly agreed as she said she was quite hungry. So, we arrive at my place and as I parked the car she said thanks for the ride Grandpa. The sweet young thing was my 13 year old Granddaughter. :D
Who can explain why women like the cars they do. It's like men trying to pick out women's clothes - what we like is usually seen as "trashy" or "tacky" or whatever. Same with looking at other women. The ones that turn your head are seen by other women as "slutty" or whatever.
Corvettes are guys cars and GM makes them for guys and markets them to guys, plain and simple.
Then I re-read a few and the word "girls" jumped out at me. I prefer women and don't pay much attention to the younger girls; girls being defined for this thread as those under the age of 30. Women on the other hand seem to use my car as an excuse to say "Hello". A few Saturdays ago I went to the club to have a few drinks with friends. When I pulled into the parking lot there was a small group (4) of attractive women walking up to the door. I smiled and waved as I drove by. I parked and walked to the door and one of them was there waiting for me. "That's a nice car", she said. With a smile I said "Thanks, my name's Bill. How are ya"? I made a new "friend". The Vette makes all the difference. At the gas station, the mall, the restaurant, the gym...it always does. :flag
I should mention that my dad gets plenty of attention in his C5. He's had hot women talk to him at red lights sometimes. He's also had a lady who stopped him the parking lot to get his number. It might be the Corvette, but I think it has something to do with his "No Wife" license plate. His girlfriend of over a year thinks *ahem* very highly of the plate...
I agree with the poster who mentioned Corvettes are made and marketed to guys only for the most part. It's like asking your male friend what attracts ladies, you should be asking the ladies themselves. I'd love to hear their input myself.
I've noticed the girls I get because of the car are not the ones I want to keep for more than one date. The ones that I meet then tell them about the car later are always the ones I end up dating for a long time.
this is from my experience. i'm 20 i look a little older maybe 23. drove vettes for 3 years and it aint helped me out much. i've had a few girls ask about my car and then i can talk to them cause they are interested but very few. my current vette i got on the day of the first date with my current girlfriend. i'm still happy with her and so i never had the chance to really exploit any possible vette attraction to any girls out there, at least not with this one. na i dont have the attitude that i'm a loser, but lots of girls are snobs round here and seriously stereotype when the see what i drive. oh yea, i'm ugly too and proud of it. and my autocross helmet looks like vader 86's avatar! lol :steering: :jester :troll :seeya :D

Re: Babe Magnet? (Clemson Vette)
Guys check out my car way more than girls. The girls aren't as self conscious, but they usually don't care or know anything about cars either.
The guys are always afraid of me seeing them checking it out, which is pretty pathetic. It's fun to sit in a restaurant and see people eyeing it out in the parking lot or doing double takes as they walk by.
The little kids love it, and they aren't too self-conscious to show it.
Girls aren't impressed by cars, at least not the smart ones in their early 20s. I find that owning a vette can be an excuse for aholes and snotty bitches to tell me I'm a self-centered *****. Funny though... I'm always the LAST person to mention that I drive a Vette.
The white guy with the BMW 318 with the M3 ground effects and $30 flame stickers gets more attention than the tasty vette.
