Re: I hit it. (midlifecrisis91)
I did 140 once with my 19 year old daughter in the car. Told her it would be best not to mention it to her mom. She asked which one, real or stepmom. I said both!

I'm just trying to be the voice of reason in an otherwise irresponsible thread. Put the keys to the Vette down, slowly back away and nobody gets hurt. Then for the love of humanity seek professional help! Your answers aren't in a "Go Faster" car.
125 numerous times.i run out of road on the one stretch thats safe to pop it up there that i drive almost daily.the heaves at the end of it remind me of my need for shocks every time too lol.front end bobs a bit.
whats nice about the c4 is it snaps up to speed very quickly and also shuts down in no distance at all.its really not that big a deal to run it up for a sec and shut it down.as long as its in a wide (this ones 3 lanes) road with open sides (no chance of some ungulate jumping from behind a tree) and theres NO traffic,i dont feel its an unsafe or dangerous thing to do.
like someone stated earlier-why have it if you arent at least gonna let it show you what its made of?
that'd be like getting married and never having sex. hm,wait a minute, thats right.after marriage there is no sex.ok,so run your buddys car up to the top end are then and let him run on yours
U must have a vagina ....If you dont like the post quit reading it. Do you watch stuff on TV you dont want to watch? Do you listen to a radio station you dont want to hear?...F off go read some other post.My 2 inch ***** and I want to read about goin fast

Re: I hit it. (Jeffvette)
Some people dangle them over railings, others take them for 100+ rides just before they are given drivers licenses. Tell me idiots, what's the difference. Please don't ask for as they are peeling and scraping her off a tree.
Haven't been over 116mph in my vette yet. But I can vouch that 140mph on my old sport bike was pretty cool. 7 guys and myself covered alot of ground that day. Gee at 140 on a country road it is possible to past 14 cars at a time. But that was before my daughter was born and now a distant but good memory.
Thank You. I know I would rather have my daughter doing 110mph with me that with someone who is younger and alot more irresponsible. I've been around the world and around the block a few times. Don't need negative comments about the thread. Go on in your "Bubble of Life".

You wanted a pat on the back and you finally got one from an unemployed kid almost young enough to date your daughter.
As a conservative myself it is not my intention to tell anyone else how to live. I honestly couldn't care less. I suggested a different approach...take it or leave it. I firmly believe in personal freedom as long as one doesn't cause harm to another. Personal freedom does not entail deciding which laws you agree with and obey which you don't. Personal freedom doesn't give you the right to endanger someone elses life or well being including your daughters.
Regardless of age I don't see how you can get any more irresponsible! Especially from a man as worldly as yourself. I would think a responsible father wouldn't want his daughter doing 110+mph with anybody to include himself. Just because these comments don't support your behavior doesn't mean that they are negative. Haven't you learned that by now throughout your travels?
What might have been to consequence to your actions? Have you considered?
Personal injury aside (though this thread should have been locked long ago). Exceeding the posted limit by 30+ mph in most states gets you arrested and your vehicle impounded on the spot. Not to mention the legal issues (reckless endangerment? other charges?) that follow. Would she have thought seeing you in handcuffs was a blast too? Or calling her mother from the police station and explaining where she is and why?
You set a bad example. Plain and simple. No amount of spin or rhetoric will change that.
I have had my 94 up to 165, with the top up. I had plenty of pedal left and a lot of open road. I just ran out of gutts! I guess I am just getting to old for all that stuff now. Talk about exciting. Back in 1974 I had a 1972 convertable and was cruising down a long straight strech of highway doing a little over 150 with the top down. The dude riding with me was loving it, untill we ran into a wall of rain. It was hair, going from not a drop of rain into a wall of it. Thank God I had enough since to not slam on the brakes. I just held the wheel tight and straight, the car fishtailed but never swaped ends. When we got down to about 70 the rain stopped and I looked over at my buddy who was welded to the seat. I asked him if he wanted to do it again, and he would not say a word for the rest of the night...Thank God I have out grown all that. But I do know that the 94 would have run circles around my old 72. And I guess if I would have had this car then I could have told you within 5 minutes exactly how fast it would go. I guess as we get older, we get smarter. Oh, the 165 thing will never ever happen again. All I could think of was hitting a deer or dog at that speed...

Okay...so...I've had my Vette for a year now. She was in sad shape when I brought her home and what a difference a year (and a good deal of my disposable income) makes! I've learned alot in the last twelve months both behind the wheel and from this forum. The most interesting thing though has been the sheer tonnage of challenges that I receive while driving my Vette...
I've had fast cars most of my life and with the possible exception of my 69 Chevelle I've never been challenged like this. Right after I got my car a friend of mine that has a C3 told me "everyone wants to race a Vette". I thought he was kidding but rarely a drive goes by that I'm not challenged in some fashion; and I drive her to work almost daily. From actually bouncing their car next to me or blipping the throttle at a light or chirping the tires to (and this really chaps my azz) taildragging my rear bumper. On the flip side, it's a rare (and I do mean RARE) occasion when a Camaro wants to challenge and to date only one other Vette has challenged me (and I return the courtesy).
So what's the etiquette?
MtlSphere, so you don't condone speeding, but street racing is okay? My point is, we're all hypocrites... The only thing that divides us is that some of us think our sh-t don't stink, while rest of us realize it and quit judging others, and get on with life & know how to have a good time.
If you dedicate too much time trying to avoid death, you'll eventually discover that you never really lived. Take it easy.

Why are there so many cry babies in here? If you don't enjoy the ocasional pedal to the floor post, don't post in that thread. Simple as that. Here we have people bitching about this thread, and why it's not locked yet. People like you are part of the reason this board is the way it is, so uptight.
As for the topic at hand. I remember when I was very young, my father would take the '72BB out once in a while and take me for a ride through the neighborhood. He'd punch it, and I couldn't move my head from the seat. Great feeling when you're a kid.
