I did not cut into anything exept for the hole for the new harness seen in this picture:
I have installed the TCI T-Com and the Haltech E6K.
I have almost finished the wireing now.
I have two hi intensity LEDs mounted in the a-pillar pod. I will use them as shift-lights om two different Haltech outputs. They can be set att different RPMs.
I connected another output to the check engine light. I configured it to be lit below 400 rpm.
I used a fourth output as tachometer signal. I connected both the stock tachometer and the TCI T-Com tachometer input to that wire.
I have bought 3" piping for the exhaust, but I have not started welding yet. It seems to be more room than I expexted. I will post pictures of the exhaust later.
very nice work! You should have no problem with that trans. I've been beating on mine for three years and 60k HARD miles. Its finally showing a little age but won't break no matter what I do
What are the shift lights for? I thought the TCI controller took care of all the shifting for you?
Yes, it does. I Aready had the lights, so I decided to make use of them. The TCI controller also has a connector for a manual shift switch. You can use paddles on the steering wheel to shift manually. If you do a manual shift then the TCI will be in manual mode for 25 seconds ( time can be configuerd ). On a drag-race the computer probably does a better job. On an auto-x track you probably want to shift manually. An up or downshift in the middle of a corner might not be a good thing.
I almost don't know what to say other then GREAT JOB.
That is one of the best documented swaps I have ever sen and the quality is first rate. I feel you have also given another choice to many who are fed up with the 700 and if they use your web site as a guide then it will be a much simpler task, again awsome work
