valve Seals
Which do you prefer, GM or Felpro? Also, if you prefer GM. Do you have a part # for an LT1.

Since my OEM seals lasted over 100k miles I went with them; and you know they will fit with no problems.

Either one would work OK. Another brand is PC or Perfect Circle but I think they were swallowed up by Federal Mogul. FelPro I beleive is the vendor to GM.

10212810 Black ones for intake.
12564852 Red ones for exhaust...from GM a couple of years ago.
CNC also included the black ones for both intakes and exhaust...about 28 bucks from Superior Chevrolet for 16.
I have no complaints.

Felpro viton (intake) seals are better than stock. I used 16 rather than use the hard plastic exhaust seals.

I'm quite sure the LT1/4's are different than early C4's...either because of the aluminum heads or simply a change of seal layout.
The OEM's looks very similar to the Fel Pro that I've seen...they just pop on with a little plastic tool or...maybe a wooden dowel depending what you have available.

Yeah, my CNC Heads have all black seals. With is the difference with the red seals?
Thanks for the part #'s, I'll pick up a set this week.

What's the problem with "teflon" seals? Please let me know before I put my engine together.
Thanks,

They tend to deform with heat, they will not grab the guide and thus ride with the valve, rather than wiping the oil as intended. Useless !

They also become brittle and fail, leaking oil into the exaust valve.
Just don't drop a valve into the engine
when changing them.
