FWIW and this has probably been stated a zillion times but quality and fit are superb. I put these on my 84 with a 383. Easy install. The hardest part was having my wife get the last header bolt installed on #8. She has smaller hands. I used felpro gaskets (1705 i think). Started the motor up let it get up to temp, let it get cold and retighten the bolts and no leaks. I originally tried to use Stage 8 header bolts but no joy - All of the keeper clips would have needed to be cut down. I changed over to ARP small head header bolts by recommendation of a forum member and I have had no issues. Screw them in tighten them up and no fuss no muss.
I took the exhaust parts to the local exhaust shop and they welded everything back up for $350. The did not weld to the collector I used those stainless steel wrap things with two bolts on each side like the pictures show. I can remember what they are called at the momemt but Walker makes them. I bought them from Summit for $8 each.
what do the headers NOT come with that you need? gaskets? is that it? do they come with all the bolts you need? 350 bucks sounds like a lot to weld things back up. how far apart did u take the rest of the exhaust?
you will need the bolts and gaskets(which they will sell you). you will also need to tie it in to the old exhaust. This part is not Bolt on. the Cats and rear 02 sensors need to be dealt with. EM will sell extensions that will connect to the stock exhaust after a little cutting. these can be had with or without cats.
I installed my EM LT's and RT cats a couple of weekends ago on my 93 6sp. The only mod I had to make was that I needed 3" of extra pipe added to the lefts side because the stock cat was 3" longer. I had completely removed my entire exhaust during the install, took the left side tube up to Midas and they welded in the 3" for like $15 and everything lined up and this is on a vert with the X brace. Spark plugs are no easier or harder IMO.
I got mine a couple of weeks ago - Merle is a GREAT guy to deal with - very helpful from beginning to end - Anyways, once my motor is together and back in the car, I'll post some pics - Here are the headers on my garage floor:
just got off the phone with them. cant wait to get them! looks like a great product
I was going out of my mind waiting for these to come.. Then they arrived, and I knew it had been worth it. Very nice work - These pictures don't even do them justice
FYI they are in AZ and are now on Pacific time. I'm on Eastern. Waited ALL day to get through!
We are on Mountain Standard Time (no daylight savings crap here). I have them on my '93 A4, with the cat moved way back and had no problem with emissions.
That thumbnail pic on the right looks strikingly similar to my car
Tip: if you get the extensions, pay the extra for the coated ones because I have the painted and already they are completely rusted in less than a year.

Hey Merle, are the extentions and cats on sale, too, or is this the standard price?

According to my corporate time chart, IN and AZ vary depending on Winter/Summer. Not specifically Daylight Savings like we have here in OH. From what I see, in the Winter AZ is on Mountain and in the Summer they are on Pacific. IN is on Eastern or Central respectively. At least that's what I was going by when I made the post.

Really?? My car doesn't see rain/snow, so I'm hoping to get better results from them... At least I HOPE.. I didn't know coating was an option, or I'd have sprung for it.

Unfortunately, neither does mine. I've only logged about 2400mi since I bought the car over two years ago.
It will rust..but thats the nature of the beast. I would have prefered if they had used stainless for the extensions.

Well I didn't want to spring for the coated since I currently have welded in cats and I plan on having them welded into the extension. I can't see paying extra for something that's just going to be cut eventually anyway.
I was told there is a product sold for John Deere tractors to blacken the exhaust stack.
I have not tried it but perhaps ir is worth looking into to keep the un-coated extension from rusting.
