Question: Has anyone here ever had the little HEI capacitor blow out? What were your symptoms (besides radio noise)? Did you figure out what caused it?
Though I haven't had this issue, I wanted to say welcome to the board. I would imagine if the capacitor did go open, it could cause radio noise and possible damage to the module from spikes it is supposed to supress.

Engine is a MiniRammed ZZ4.
Thanks.
I was working for GM when the HEI system was introduced. Since then I have only seen on instance of that cap going bad. All that happened to that particular car was noise in the radio. In that case, the cap was just bad, it didn't physically come apart.
I've heard claims that the car won't run at all, all the way to that the car can run fine without it. Is there a way to test the thing to see if it's bad?
I'm running the MiniRam I with a comp cams 212°/218° roller and AFR 180 cc heads.
