Default SuperRam Distributor Plug Leak

Anyone else have an issue with their distributor block out plug on the superram intake manifold leaking?

Anyone know where to get a new plug?

distributor block-out plug?

I have a superram and have had the displeasure of installing it multiple times and I have not heard of what you're describing. Are you running a distributor-less setup? Or are we just fumbling over a description of some common part?

You're not talking about the C-shaped clamp that holds the distributor in place, are you?

My intake has a "block out" plug on the rear of the intake - where the distributor would go on a normal small block 350... Since I'm using the stock LT1 distributor on the front of the engine, there is no distributor at this location...

Does anyone else have this on thier Superram, or do I have some weird freak of nature intake?

What about using one of those rubber expansion plugs that you turn a wing nut to expand the plug once it's in. My local jobber sells them in different sizes.

Those of us with a distributor in the rear of the manifold, do not acknowledge the newer version of chevy 350 with that Opti-crap up front. All jesting aside, you could call LPE and ask if they have one sitting around they would sell you. I have found them to quite helpful in this regard. My superRam was shipped without plugs. I called them and they shipped me a plug kit, that I later found out, I could have bought at any major hardware store or speedshop. I have an egr block off plate, but not a distributor block off plate. Can you not just ubolt the original one and and put sealant on it and bolt it back on? Sorry I have a dstributor covering my hole. Best of luck.

Oh, OK..............it would've helped to know you have an LT motor .

I think I may have a blockoff plate for that application in my parts closet...........I'll check a bit later on and if I do, you're more than welcome to it

at the very least, you could probably just fab one using some plate steel or aluminum - cut out a rough circle and smooth off the edges. Use a stock chevy 350 distributor hold-down (a c-shaped thing that bolts into the manifold) and some ultrablack sealant?

I fabbed my own EGR block off plates in under an hour using scrap I had in the garage...

And I don't think I'd use thos expander plugs - if they wiggle out or you don't do it right, they'll plop right down ontop of the cam and wedge who knows where. So use something big enough to NOT pass through the dist. hole.
