'85 headlights won't open?

'85 headlights won't open?

Good friend just bought a '85 turns on headlight switch they don't open..... opens hood and the lights are on any help would be appreciated ..................

Are the motors making any noise at all when he turns on the lights? If not, power might not be getting to the motors. Trace the wires back from the headlight motors and make sure they are not damaged and that they are plugged in securely.

We are both electronics technicians is there a good place to check voltage that would affect both???

I have a schematic diagram from my 85 Helm's manual if that will help. Let me know and I will e-mail it to you.

Check to see if the isolation relay and/or headlamp relays have power and grounds. The relays are located in the LH front wheelwell under a cover held on by 2 7MM bolts.
