Also an FYI, nobody on this side of the fence is trying to be "smarter" than anyone on the other side of the fence. We are simply stating FACTS about what has worked for our setups. Consequently, they happen to be fast cars with all the cookins of your car, weight, suspension, ect. If that in your book makes us smart, then I have to say thanks, but that is not what I was looking for.

on.

Jesse, I too was just joking with you. Didnt you see the or the in the post.

The mustang is a full street with seats console etc. Also a full rollcage. So whatever the weight is of a stock 93, it would be. I feel sure it is over 3000, and he is about 235lbs himself. It is a very fast and impressive car. Its amazing how much cheaper it is to make a mustang go fast compared to the corvettes. But then I tell him, at the end of the day he still has a mustang. He tells me, at the end of the day I am still watching his taillights.
I dont want to follow his advise on injectors, as he is running 60lbs. I feel sure it is grossly oversized.

Oh, and please dont think that I am comparing my car to yours. I realize they are in two different classes. 1, I am running a stock bottom motor. 2. I have to pass emissions.

Seems like we have the makings of the first C4 soap box derby!

Now we need to find a nice hill to roll down. First one to the bottom wins the other two shells!

I just sold my vette and have yet to replace it, but until then, can I drive Bob Curran's C4 in this episode of Pinks? I think 8.40s would be competitive with a 360 ci?

I know a place. Its on a nice grade of road, I-70 somewhere in Colorado. I'll have to get my wheel bearings Teflon lube coated in order to win.

I have to agree on that. The entire show is a joke.
Whats up with the host??? i bet he has Pink undies on.

93, the mustang yes is pretty impressive from what you describe and yeah you should tell him he is a pretty savy mechanic if he is responsible for that motor.

It must have a BIG old hairdryer on that baby! But none the less that is impressive. I for a change also agree with you that you have a vette and his is still a mustang.

To the other pictures....damn I need a solid rear in my car. I wanna do that too

Bob Curran represents us corvette HP junkies very well. He's always in the top 5 of the most expensive and competitive heads up racing classes.

Randy Eakins used to run a turbo vette that was very fast as well.

Ski, all you need is the solid rear, 31X10 tires and leave on a 400 shot like these guys go. It's very impressive. Come on Jessie come to the dark side in 06 and you'll easily be a low 9 sec car for minimal cost. Only spray it with a 200 shot for fun, run NA while bracket racing.

I would in a second and probably would have put a solid rear in the car this winter had the motor not went to pieces (not sure how I feel) But the new crank just came in and is presently (no pun intented) under the christmas tree Wifey said it better be gone tonight

At any rate, after seeing plum crazys 434 and what its going on the juice, I might have to dabble a little this coming season once I get this thing back together. Need to contact JE today and discuss piston replacment for the 2 that got chewed up.

I was thinking about going crazy with high compression and stuff, but then the rear will be at further risk, and all the safety stuff is going to be eating my wallet more. 10.0s or high 9s on the motor alone it should do no problem this season. Its going back together just as it was before. Same cam everything. Just going to pick up where I left off and put the stuff I have been learning back to task with the fresh motor. Should be pretty impressive - then perhaps some juice for the ultimate street/strip machine. Can anyone hear high 8s calling

Stay tuned...the insanity should continue.....

just do like i do tell them mid 12 and low 12's on spray, blast off a killer # then pack up and leave ...VERY QUICKLY. hehe. I have never been kicked out yet running low 10's with NO roll bar and stock seat belts. I hit the exit sign right after i get the ticket. And when i come back the next time ( I usually go 2 times spring and fall) i start right off back at mid 12's.

Problem with me is I am there nearly every weekend and the guys at the track know how it runs, so I am under the sights of inspection anyways. Usually the first time out with it they go over it real good, then inspections are quicker. However, they know where it runs now, and if they nitrous on it, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what its going to run with a hit.

They will probably get on me anyways if they see nitrous on it. I will have to feel it out. My experience, 11sec they are somewhat strict, 10s you better have what is needed, 9s don't come back again, 8s your an idiot, and two other guys beat the crap out of you behind the tower for endangering them as well.

No its for your own safety and I try to obey the rules as best I can, except the one time I forgot my fire jacket, slipped by all day with a long sleeve shirt on. And one time in a panic after making some changes and nearly missing my round of eliminations after going three rounds, I forgot to put on my helmet! I went out to do my burnout and damn did the car sound loud, then I suddenly realized I had my helmet off! It was like realizing your infront of 100 people giving a speech and forgot to put on your pants in the morning. Amazingly enough, I scrambled to put the helmet on, after lighting the first staging light and actually cut a decent light and won the race. I can imagine what the guy in the other car thought if he looked over pissed it was taking me so long to stage and saw me over there trying to put on my helmet while staging.

Luckly my car is tinted pretty good.

Default agree

I agree the rules are there to protect us. Next summer my car will be on a 100 shot only. 11.0's 10.90's will be breaking the rules as far as i care to anymore. plus i can do it this way on 93 pump gas, not do able with anymore than that.

I think you found a good tire, suspension set up at the end of last year, you'll be fine.

The last I knew, Eakins' car was in OH with a single turbo SBC running high 6s, low 7s. I had heard that Lee Howey bought it. I do not know him, but he has a shop specializing in forced induction in the Columbus area. I saw it at a cruise in a couple summers ago.
