CFI-EFI vs anyone w/out a Helms manual

Chuck, I think that is a good idea, the mile race, they do negotiate length of race. Heck, I'd like to see some of the road racers who get sick of every performance question being answered based on 1/4mi performance, give time or lengths to a few drag racers at a road course. I have a good one in mind for that...
Aquaman and EricVonHA were blowing nitrous at road race tracks on straights during the One Lap this year. It could be interesting.

Given the negotiation of car setup and length of track we could arrange a WWF tag team match. I know of two local cars to match against Cork and Ski, and I don't mean you and Dave. How about a tag team match of Ski-Cork vs. *89x2* and rkreigh with their beasts. The slicks go on the truck and tires are choice of DRs or R compound RR DOT tires in 315 ot 335. All motor and different kinds of cars. An LSV and a B2K (two big cube LPE motors) against two big cube home built drag cars? Who would win in a half mile?

Why yes you do and infact it would fit like a glove. I missed the old girl this season and a few times like with the crotch rocket episode mentioned above. OD would have been nice to really leave him in the dust.

I agree WWE

I'm up for it... His blown Vette vs. my nitrous fed one... Instead of cars though I'd just settle for one leaves the Forum and the other doesn't... Whaddya say, Blown? Put your money where your (prodigious) mouth is???

So.... I got to thinking...who do you think would make a great "Pinks! CFC4" episode?

I'll start off...

Nathan Plemons vs. ski_dwn_it

bogus vs anyone w/out cats

jburnett vs Blown Vette

PS this is meant to be a fun thing. I'm sure Nathan and Jesse know why this would be a good episode, it is not a personal comment about either one. "bogus", passion for the subject would make that episode worth watching. So, please try and keep it light and a little fun. Maybe there is someone with a similar setup that you are "forum friends" with that you would like to duel.

Come on now... he said that in good fun and did include some smiley's.

I don't agree with him most of the time either, but I don't think he meant any harm by that.

Your absolutely right...it was a joking around post. Some of you guy need to take this forum a little more lightly...its a friggin help forum/tech talk- not the GM performance gospel to the stars. Opinions are going to vary and so are approaches.

Best advice is back up what you beleive with results, which is why some as you mention don't like me - because that is exactly what I do.

Hence the reason why shows like pinks are around. Guys are always going to have differing opinions and when things get heated up enough there is sometimes only one way to settle it. Run what you brung and leave the smack talk at the starting line and let the results do the talkin.

I seen him run down at Richmond about a year ago. His car is not set up for drag racing, but none the less, he sure was impressive going down the track. If memory serves me correctly, he was running about 125mph in the qtr. Very nice clean car.

I have a good friend (real redneck country boy) who has a 93 331 ci. SC mustang. Even without it tuned properly, he has ran a 9.80 at 143mph on drag radials. Soooo, since he has run faster then any of us in the qtr. does this make him the smartest? If so, he will be glad to know this.

I've spoken with both of you guys, and both seem to know there way around a fast vette!

Though I do recall the sting of Blown's comments to Black Bart right before he left the CF. Though Bart was talking some big numbers (>1000RWHP) from a large tube L-98 intake with a P-600B and a 100shot. Not anywhere near likely!

All in good fun!

don't know the specifics of the mustang, but if its 3300+ lbs like all the cars above, and running those sorta numbers with that setup I would say YES your friend/redneck, whichever you like to call him, is pretty sharp when it comes to motors. You probably should pay more attention to what he says, I know I would be if he was around me offering advise

If its 2000lbs and running those sorta numbers - it probably isn't anything real special, but may be when its tuned. Again you should listen to him.

Also an FYI, nobody on this side of the fence is trying to be "smarter" than anyone on the other side of the fence. We are simply stating FACTS about what has worked for our setups. Consequently, they happen to be fast cars with all the cookins of your car, weight, suspension, ect. If that in your book makes us smart, then I have to say thanks, but that is not what I was looking for.

Somehow some people struggle with the fact what we do is REAL, and can't understand its not wise to tell us what we are doing is not capable of providing realiable good power. Just like it would be stupid of me to tell your friend he can't go 143MPH with a sc 331ci motor. It would be especially stupid of me to state that after seeing him do it time and time again - weekend after weekend for years on end.

I think what it really boils down to is the old scenerio of dislike/jeolous for someone. We have all worked or associated with people like that and it doesn't matter if they deep down inside agree with what your stating/doing, but they will oppose it. You know the I say white, and you say black syndrome.

I am pretty consistant in my suggestions of stuff and seldom speak outside of what has worked for me or worked for someone else. I always have my ears/eyes open for new ideas and techniques. Furthermore I am more than willing to share anything I have learned with ANYONE.

Hope I answered your question.
