"Pinks" is a new show where two people agree to race best of 3 or 5 and the loser gives up his car. Before each race there is a negotiation to determine head starts (in car lengths), nitrous or no nitrous, 1/8mi 1/4, 1000ft, etc. There are no starting lights and no timing lights, a guy throws his hands down to start and another guy watches them cross the line.
So.... I got to thinking...who do you think would make a great "Pinks! CFC4" episode?
I'll start off...
Nathan Plemons vs. ski_dwn_it
bogus vs anyone w/out cats
jburnett vs Blown Vette
PS this is meant to be a fun thing. I'm sure Nathan and Jesse know why this would be a good episode, it is not a personal comment about either one. "bogus", passion for the subject would make that episode worth watching. So, please try and keep it light and a little fun. Maybe there is someone with a similar setup that you are "forum friends" with that you would like to duel.
The best one and this has been run many times would be Mr Mackey VS Mr Panuzzo. I can't tell you how many times those guys have met each other in the final rounds.
Both their cars used to run about the same till Mackey bumped it up a little bit.

Now you know he would be asking for MANY lengths(even though I am out of injector), and we would have to race on a dyno at the local fairgrounds for maximum accuracy for the bet to go down..
SonnyinVA vs. ski_dwn_it for a flying mile. Sonny holds the record for the class, would ski make it through the mile? Badass vs. badass of another kind.

How fast did he run the flying mile and what was his trap? If Jesse had an OD gear and could trap 134 mph in the quarter, I think that he'd at least get to 200 mph and be ahead until the end.

Actually it's a standing mile and the speed you are allowed to run is limited by the safety equipment you have. The time is how quick you get there self limiting your top speed to not be disqualified. Sonny has a seriously strong stroker LT4 with the 6 speed of course. I'm not so sure a 10 second drag race automatic would even last a full mile at full throttle, that's the point.

Ask the dude with the crotch rocket this past summer if it will last....he was pleasantly surprised. Can't say for how long we were at it, but it was scarey and I usually do not screw around on the roads. That is what the tracks are for.
Figured it out, 2.59 gears with a 7k redline is 209MPH. Not saying it would do 209, but I can tell you it would come damn close I am sure and she is still pullin like a freight train at the end of the 1/4 mile. Enough my adrenaline is flowin after each pass - even after hundreds of passes - still not 100% used to it.
It would be neat to try one of these flyin 1/4 mile runs. My cousin came up from Florida and runs a roush racing Mustand through these. We were at my family reunion this past summer and he was talking about his racing experience and he came over the house to see my car the next day. We went for a ride in mine and I got on it a little through some straight stretches and he was nearly crawling out the window and scare crapless as he put it. Told me he did not even want to get in his supercharged professionally built mustang after that experience.
Onto the PINKs show. Its kinda queer how they do the races there. The few shows I watched they are at a dragstrip and the guy waves his arms to start the race. Why not use the friggin lights and handicap the racers with their times, ie, dial in. If a guy wants lengths, then just have the light come down accordingly. Last episode they were griping about a false start...redlight would have taken care of the controversy. But then I guess there would not have been the arguement.

i would have to disagree with you i ran bottem 10s at 134 mph in 3rd gear at 5500 rpm acceraating in the second half of the track in only 3.8 seconds so for the entire mile should only be another 20 or 21 seconds top and i probally still wouldnt even be redlining yet remember i have 700 r4 tranny with a 3.07 rear gear

I was thinking in terms of the torque converter heat from a full blast run for an entire mile. But with lockup in third that may not be an issue.
Sonny set the record for the 175 mile class. His post is in the archives so I can't reference it here, the link won't work. It is titled " i set 2 Land Speed Records this weekend!! " posted on 04-04-2005. It's the Monster mile at Maxton.

What you must remember on that show is that the guys racing on there could care less if they loose there car. From what I undrestand most of those car you see there were eather built or bought just for the show. Most cars are junk with alot of NO2, those guys are there for the air time to get their face on TV. The producers claim a 23 minute show is worth $100,000 in advertizing.
I would not be surprised if that show isn't the WWE of drag racing.
