Well, I noticed since I put on my new tires that my clutch started slipping. Well, I've taken it easy on it since I originally noticed about 500 miles ago. The other day I notice that when letting the clutch pedal out while normal take off the car felt like it wanted to stall and shutterd a bit. I thought maybe I was letting it out to fast, but the other day it did it to me two or three times. I started letting the clutch pedal out slower and at a slightly higher RPM and I can avoid the problem. Tonight I noticed while in 6th gear around 1.1-2k if I gave the car any throttle about 50% for normal highway acceleration the tranny would shutter and shake the entire car violently. It has to me the most violent and scary noise and shaking I have ever experienced. I tried it out again, and at low rpms when given throtte the tranny with sputter, shake, and clank very harshly. Has anyone else ever experienced this in any form. I hope to God it is a clutch issue and not a tranny issue. Any input would be great appreciated.
Maybe the clutch disk is comming apart. I had a Ram do the same thing a few years ago on the way home from the race track in my old Mustang. It started slipping on the last run, then on the way home it started chattering really bad when I gave it gas in high gear (really about any gear). Got home, pulled the tranny and the clutch facing had started comming off the disk. I had a Zoom do the same thing a few months later but it just went all at one time, pulled it apart and the facing was strewn everywhere.
Have you noticed the peddle effort getting any harder? Any noise? What about your clutch engagement point, is it different than before? I really think its your clutch, the ZF is a very strong tranny, not to say you can't break one, but I highly doubt it with the stock clutch, bolt-ons and DR's.

The car has 104k miles and I bought it with 99k. I doubt the clutch has been replaced although the previous owner took good care of the car. I hope it is the clutch and not the tranny. BTW the car has DR, but no bolt-ons. Stocker.
