best crate engine
What would be the best crate engine to have an easy fit into an 89 6speed using a mini ram intake. must be at least 383ci . Already considered zz383 but was curious what else is out there, any suggestions will be appreciated, thanks.

diameter damper is assembled on the crank.
A choice like the ZZ383 comes with an 8" OD damper and this requires
chassis mods or replacement of the damper with a smaller dia unit.
Feasible, but perhaps not a trival consideration for someone in your part
of the globe.

http://diabolicalperformance.com/ Check these out. Dave has a C4 with 427 himself so he knows what parts fit and which do not on any configuration you want. I recently had him build a 406 specifically configured to pass Ca smog and still make good power. It is in the car now and just waiting for a new fuel pump, due in tomorrow 
I can't wait to get it dialed in so I can report back in these boards.
