Is changing the front transverse spring an easy task?

Just incase anybody else has this problem.

It ended up being a bent spindle/knuckle. It was throwing the passenger side wheel well off.

I ended up taking my vette to a garage that only works on Corvettes. And from what he said he gets a lot of vettes in that have bent rear spindles. Which is surprising seeing how large the rear spindle is.

He ended up swapping my spindle with a spindle from a similar year vette that only had about 12K on it. And that fixed the problem. It pissed me off because of all the things that I did not check or change out was the spindle

He says its possible that the spindle had been bent for a while, because now that the damaged spindle is off the alignment is thrown way off do to the efforts to compensate for the bent spindle.

Oh well, one prob down....many more still on the list.

I don't know if this is applicable in your case but I just lowered my 93 and when I did I could not believe how close the outer edge of the upper ball joint came to the wheel rim inner lip, about 1/8". The front geometry is such that lowereing brings the ball joint very close to the wheel. I have same priblem on both sides. FWIW.

what I have seen is the result of improper towing.

The rear lateral lower control arm will tweek if used as a lock point for a roll back... and most of these morons don't know there are actual tow hooks under there.
