There is a way to turn on the fuel pump to prime the fuel rail....right?
(Besides the key on, pump auto-on for 2 seconds, rest for 10 seconds, repeat)
I just swapped cams, I put the motor back together and with no changes to the fuel rail (same regulator and injectors) and hooked the lines up correctly. It won't build fuel pressure at all... ? ? ?
So if there is a way to get the pump motor to stay on...that would be excellent!
If you have the correct wiring diagram and color codes I would just disconnect the pump connector and put external 12 volts to the pump. Make sure you do it correctly and don’t damage the fuel sending unit.
If there is no pressure in 2 seconds which is long enough to pressurize, running the pump longer might not help. You might want to check out the fuel filter and the pick up in the tank for starters. You can also disconnect the hose from the tank unit and see if anything is coming out from tank and then work forward if need be. You can check the return line also.
Are you sure your gauge and measurement connections are good. Did you depress the Schrader valve momentarily to verify there is really no pressure?
the wiring diagram above does not apply to the 86 vette....on the 86 vette you jump 12v into the "G" pin of the ALDL to run the pump..."G" pin is furthest left on bottom row.

Remove the gas hatch cover with the 4 screws. Look down and slightly backwards and connector is there. It does have a locking pin that needs to be removed.
There are 3 wires. Black is ground and gray is power for the pump and the purple wire is the float unit. Hope this helps.
