TunerPro is an editor, also drives the Moates Burner and Osterich emulator (RT version), but no logging. Datamaster is free to download and use for 20 logs. Getting it to work with a USB cable can be a challange. I've had it work great with one laptop, for a few minutes at a time with another, and not at all with a third. Go figure.
TunerProRT can log data. I use this all the time. You do need a cable. I bought one a few years ago from AKM works fine with my 88.
Note: The cable needs to be capable of 2way communication to put the ecm into 8192 baud mode, I don't think a simple winaldl type interface will work, but I'm not an expert on this topic. I do have an old homemade cable 9simple interface with resistor), but I haven't tried it with RT. It used to work with WinALDL and EFILive I think.
Once you have it running, hit continue after 10 seconds, if not registered.
Click on Tools -> ALDL/Data Logging -> Setup, Connect, etc.
You need a datastream definition file for 32b (*.ads file) You may need to download this file.
You need to identify a file to log data to (*.adl file).
There is a button to detect and initialize the hardware (ooks like a cable and connector)
Once set up:
Plug in cable and key ign on.
There is a button to connect (looks like two blue arrows). At the bottom you will see the ALDL-Connected in blue if successful
You can display Dash, Values, Flags, or Monitor (DVFM). You can customise channels as desired.
There is a button to record (Red Circle). At the bottom you will see the ALDL-Recording in green
Start car
Stop when finished, enter comments.
Go back to setup to select log session to view. You can store many sessions in one file.
TTS Datamaster is another good option.

Damn, I'm sorry, you are right. I gave up on it right off because it didn't have a DA2 xdf. I just looked and confirmed it can in fact log if you have a supported ECM.
I haven't done any data logging...but it would seem like you'd want to download it to a disk if you're sending to someone just because of constant changes.
tequilaboy, very nice description. I think I can do this. Only problem is to get the info off the laptop and to Alvin.
Thanks very much,
Do I need to copy it to a disc or just how???
EDIT: BTW, I am using the CABL1 OBDI-style ALDL connector and ALDU1 USB-to-ALDL converter from Craig Moates.
You will have to give your log file a name before starting. After logging, send the file to floppy or disc, put it into you PC and email Alvin the file. Better yet, if you can get the laptop onto the net, you could email from it.
