Default Theft deterrent module location?

Can someone tell me where to find the theft deterrent module on an 85 vette. The manual gives the location as being on the right side of the instrument panel. But, I have yet to find it there. Where can it be? I need to replace it right away. Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!

It's behind that loaf of bread on the passenger side of dash.

OOPS !!!! 1 more question. Does the top dash panel have to be removed in order to get to the connectors for the "bread box" for its removal? Is there a short cut way of removing the box?

Most of us usually remove the hush panel and go in from the bottom, however I am not 100% sure where that module is directly. If it is on top then you will have to remove the dash cover. As for removing the breadbox, that is a pain because two screws are very hard to get to, most cut the brackets and install the flush panel in its place.

Thanks !!!!! It sounds like I might be better off just locking the doors with the keys and forgetting about the theft system. I replaced the heater core a few years ago and I do not remember seeing the module when I had all that area taken apart. It must be at the top of the breadbox area. Again, thanks for the info.

If you replace the heater core before, you know what it takes to take those panel and dash out to get to the VATS. Its the square box right behind the bread box.
Why do you have to replace the module? How much did you pay and where can I get one? I need to replace that also

I bought the part from the above listed place. I purchased it used so I hope it works. It came with a guarantee.

The problem is this. Sometimes the security light will blink, sometimes it will not blink at all and sometimes it will blink very erratically. At times the horns will begin to sound for no apparent reason. If I lock the doors with the door lock switch, the alarm seems to "go off" at will and the horns will not stop sounding until I deactivate the system with the door key.

Ecklers sells the module for around $135.00. I got the used on for $50.00. I decided to get the cheaper item just in case this does not cure the problem.

Thanks to all for the replies, especially to Agent86 for the pictures.

I do almost all of the work on this car, but removing the breadbox, etc. is not something I really want to do. I may just try and disable the alarm system all together (maybe there is a fuse I can remove) and still be able to used the electric door locks. In my opinion, alarm systems do nothing to foil a real thief anyway.
