i know certain things can make a difference like age, abuse and so on but just a rough idea. does anyone have any stories to share about there rear blowing out and what kind of power were you putting down
I had one of the best gear shops in the midwest install 3.07 gears (went from 2.73). They told me the dana 36 can hold ~500hp and to not go below a 1.8 60' time or it will be destoryed.

So far it has lived behind 2 motors, alot of hard street driving too. I'll be staying away from drag radials especially when I run the n2o.

, but i belive that the 36 will safely support 450rwhp, with stock tires... put on drag radials and all bets are off

I have run a Dana 36 with w/ 2:73, 3:07 and 3:75 gears, the bigger the gear the sooner the spyder gears get distroyed. 2000 runs I have NEVER broken a case, always the spyders. (example) slicks and open exhaust, 3030 lbs, 422 hp and 3:07 gear = a 1.60, 60'.
