Ignition Recommendations?
I have a new 383 to go in my 91 coupe next week and am looking for recommendatons for a solid ignition system. I was thinking of a DUI distributor and some sort of MSD box. Let me know your thoughts, thanks!
SPECS:
350 block w/Milodon 4 bolt splayed caps
Forged crank
Forged 6" rods
10.5/1 forged pistons
Comp Cam(.502/.510@110, 224/230dur)
AFR 23 degree eliminator 195cc heads
TPIS miniram
BBK 52mm throttle body
Complete TPIS header/exhaust system.
This is a automatic car w 3.07 gears.

There isn't a thing wrong with the stock HEI ignition. If you have money burning holes in your pocket and you absolutely have to get rid of the money, the only better ignition system would be a multiple spark capacitor discharge system. MSD makes them and you will need to replace the center button on the distributor cap because the stock button is carbon and the increased spark current will heat the stock button up and destroy the cap.
