CentralCoaster,
Unfortunately for you,we are learning by the mistakes done to your car by safelite.I would suggest everyone to get in touch with a corvette specialist (mechanical repairs) in your area and ask him who replaces Corvette windshields.I will never use Safelite.CC I hope the windshield is repaired for you.You cant put a dollar figure for the mental anguish you are going thru. You are a patient man and deserve to have it repaired correctly at another shop.Send the bill to Safelite
Good Luck

skybolt, I've done exactly that. The CC said there was no 30-day deadline. I have photos and have kept track pretty well of all their mistakes. Here's to hoping patience pays off. I'm hoping that if I follow the chain of incompetence upwards, eventually I'll find someone that knows what they're doing, even if it's Sir Lord Pilkington himself. Either that, or they'll be needing to learn how to replace their storefront glass. (Wonder if they'd sub that out? )

Day 47. DONE.
Final score:
SafeLite Auto Glass = 21 man hours, 0 for 5.
Elite Auto Glass = 15 minutes, success!
Elite auto glass came out. Brad (head honcho) and installer Albert. He instantly saw the problem with the moldings install, and pulled em off, mounted it correctly against the windshield, sealed the molding to the reveal, and was done.
All of 15 minutes with the right guy. On their way out, I told them good luck on all their other botched Safelite jobs. He said they get quite a few of those.
Elite Auto Glass does San Diego & Orange county. I wouldn't go anywhere else for a C4 install, or any other car for that matter. The guy had the right tools and obviously knew what he was doing.

I've been following your saga in disbelief. I would have never given much thought to a windsheild replacement on my car until your post.
Thank you for bringing the rest of us along for the learning experience.
I'm glad it is finally over and your car is fixed right.

A supplemental thought.
People periodically post work-in-progress photos with tools and parts
shown perched on the cowl area at the base of the windshield.
That area serves as a very convenient tool caddy, but the expense and
hazards of C4 windshield replacement demonstrated in this thread
should be more than enough warning against such work habits.
