Since mid feb to till now, i have drag racing every week infact twice last week and i raced with WRX few times, none of em came ran 12's all of em are in 13.xx, off the launch they never beat me but come close at the finish line, i have too many mods on my car though, my best run so far 12.321at 110 with 1.749 60 ft time but pretty much 12.4-12.6 consistent, advantage of those cars are light weight and they weigh only 2500 lbs. see mods under sig.
a stock WRX is only a 14 sec car how do you keep losing to him if you have a LT-x powered vette.
I am not sure whether it is a STi or not. He removed all of the rear emblems and made it spanking bare. It probably is an STI because that sucker moves.

they are so tinny, i bet a gust of wind caused him to roll
I don't know if you can easily remove the cat on your car, but if you can and bolt in a "test pipe" you should shave off .3 to .5 seconds off the quarter mile. Even with a "HI FLOW" cat, they are still restrictive. I was measuring my Magnaflow cat yesterday and discovered that it "hour glasses" into and out of the cat. It is reduced down to 2-5/16" x 2-1/2" before it opens to 2-1/2"x3-5/8". That is the clear opening, you have all the honey comb inside. A straight through pipe will open things up .
When you are done at the track, just bolt the cat back in to stay legal.

Interesting thread.
I own a C4 and a WRX.
No comparison.
How many 20-30 year old subarus do you see at cruise nights?
My wrx is a very fun, fast, daily driver.
It is an absolute blast to drive in the snow.
The subaru WRX does all the stuff I would never use a vette for.
Drive in snow, rain, lousy weather.
Shopping carts, sports equipment, drive to the city (Chicago).
I would never take my wrx to the track, because, well I have a reputation.
I have raced wrx's with my vette and I never loose. STI or otherwise.
But's that's just me.(on the track, supervised, legal, saftey equipment, fully sanctioned of course)
Two different cars. Who cares if he beats your car?
IT's a GROCERY GETTER!!! (fast, but a grocery getter)
If you put that import on the same level as a classic American Sports/muscle car, what's next???
A Toyota is NASCAR?? ummm, wait a minute...

Talking auto cross, we teach the Vette guys to leave their ego's and expectations at the gate. These short wheelbase 4wd high horsepower to weight imports will kick your butt. When it's all over, they still wish they had a Vette. Just remember the LT-Xs also rely on higher rpm for horsepower.
Ok will someone please explain to my how a 4 door with a blow dryer and awd, beat a purpose-built-for-handling, sports car??????
They Weigh the same!!
Im not bashing the STi I think they are Awesome cars (least Ricer 4cyl out there) but c'mon how does this:
lose to this?:
Easy. That STi has the C4 beat by about 20 years worth of technology.
The STi is just as purpose built as the C4. In fact, it's been improved through years of racing. The early C4s have absolutely zero racing pedigree.
I'm going to have to question that statement. The C4's were dominant SCCA racers -- so much so they ended up with their own series. In fact, I believe they ran virtually undefeated from 85 to 87.
You'd be hard pressed to find a car as old as the C4 that is as solid and well-rounded a performer even compared to the newest performance cars. We may not win every time, but we'll certainly give just about everyone a run for their money at a fraction of the price.

SCCA showroom stock racing began in 85 for the vette, after it was developed. These changed weren't seen until 1988.
Chevrolet was not actively involved in it's own racing development with the Corvette until the C5.

AWD is awesome. I own a 1993 GMC Typhoon, and that thing has an awesome launch, even though its 90% stock. I doubt there are many cars or trucks (stock or mildly modded) that could beat one. The bad news is that it runs out of breath early.
If a 2.0L Evo or 2.5L 4 bangin' Suby can push a 3200 lb car faster than a regular 5.7L V8 can, then its a torque monster! Better put that in a Vette cuz it can push it faster than an old worn out Chebby motor...

Chevrolet WAS involved in the series from day 1. Engines were "spec" built in St Catherines Ontario, sealed at the factory. At any time GM could/would take your motor, ( which belonged to GM, you leased it, basically) if you were too fast in qualifying and give you a replacement.
Engines were said to be within "5 horsepower " of each other......
Been there, ...saw it!
