Update: C-4 vs. WRX
Even my 16 y/o Vette turns more heads than a ricer. People think it's an expensive exotic.
The rumbling exhaust helps.
Dont get me wrong, I like my C-4, but lets face reality here and realize that just because its a vette does not make it the king of the hill at every race.

But that's just me.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
The stereotype vette owner is some douche bag in a mid life crisis who automatically assumes he has the fastest car at the office, at the golf course, on the boulevard, or anywhere else he goes. The sad reality is that if douche bag ever took his car to the track, he'd get owned by just about everything there. A modded WRX, or even a stock WRX, will murder any stock C4 light to light, and give most a run for their money in the 1/4 mile. Instead of saying, "Hey, quick car man." Corvette douche bags have to say **** like, "He wishes it was a vette." or the ever popular one from the ZR1 crowd, "I'll race you to 180 MPH." or how about, "My car looks better, people think it's some kind of exotic."
Why in Hell can't Corvette guys admit that maybe, just maybe, their car isn't God's gift to the world of motor sports? I love Corvettes, but damn, they are not the be all, end all of automobiles.
I know a guy with a C6 ZO6. He read on here that Ranger went into the 10's with one with no mods other than drag radials. Every time I see this tool, he talks about how nothing can touch his 10 second car. Too bad he's never been to the track and tried to drive his car to a 10 second slip. It might be a 10 second car on the right day, be he's a 13 second driver every day, no doubt about it. That's the stereotype people think of when they see a Corvette owner. Maybe the stereotype is undeserved, but some of you guys are earning every word of it.
w/Neat. THere is a snobby elitist attitude associated with Vette owners...Sometimes it takes the fun out of owning it. I dunno about you guys, I bought mine because I like driiving, not to create an identity. .. Hate to say it but I dont see this attitude on the older Chevy boards, even they say Corvette owners are snobs...and some of them are CF members saying that.

well mate i have to agree to disagree!
i love vettes so much no matter what!
i am racist so to speak when it comes to other model/brand cars!
if its not a vette then its sh*it!!!!
"vettes are the best, chuck out the rest"
i feel if you own a vette ,why not be snobby, why not think you are the best/sh*it hot!!!
my plan is to make my old 1991 zo7 vette look the best on the road and be one of the fastest on the road and i wont take no for a answer.
i believe that the corvette is gods gift to the car world for sure with a doubt!!!
i am always bagging other piece of sh*it cars on the road as i can only see past a vette and nothing else more.
final word" VETTES ARE THE BEST, CHUCK OUT THE REST"
no hard feelings.
cheers
glen
Lets do this instead... win the lottery... then buy all the go fast stuff money can buy. Carbon fiber wheels are a great start. Then a good twin turbo motor with 800+ hp. How about a good VDP suspension, Gulstrand, or DRM package ? Add a Callaway body, big brakes and rubber and all the key components. Plenty of stuff has come from the aftermarket that can turn a C4 into a world beater. Call it a Sledgehammer with a upgrade package... How fast could one be made to go ? 250 mph plus ? Oh... I forgot, that has already been done...

A C4 isn't about being the fastest car on the road. It would take many mods to be the fastest. A C4 is a beautiful car, fast car, great handling car, a car that is a thrill to drive. Smart Vette owners don't care about racing anywhere other than the track. Track racers are almost all modded Vettes. Most Vette owners know about other cars. It's the rare few that have the attitude.
so yes i agree with neat, cuisinartvette, central coaster and other who say some folks right here are so clueless they can't see the forest for the trees and are an embarrassment to the community as a whole. the snob thing is real and has been earned; no wonder we're hated.

Did you mean to say, "Most of the tracked vettes are modded?"I think you have the Corvette superiority complex and are a bit afraid to show it.
Corvette owners earned their reputation, it wasn't just made up out of thin air. I've experienced that 1st hand on too many occasions. It's the same thing every time. They think they've got better taste than everyone else, that they're "made" because they drive a trailer park exotic. And everyone else wants one but can't afford it, or is too whipped, and therefore all thos poor suckers are just jealous.
This is a big forum with a lot of people, and a lot of anonymity in posting on the Internet in general. Some people will invariably act like tools.
Some of the people, though, just love their car. There are a million reasons to like something or not like something, not everyone has the same criteria. Just because some car might be quicker in one area (light-to-light for example) doesn't mean it's a better car. Nor does it mean it's worse, though. It all depends on who is making the call. These people may also sound elitist when in reality, they are just car guys who love their car.
Then again, some people are just jerks... That's true of any large group.

Corvettes are not the best cars built. They are the favorite car of many people. Same with ricers. Many people prefer them. A ricer cannot feel the same as a rear wheel V8 sportscar. A rearwheel V8 sportscar cannot feel the same as a ricer. Ricers are a dime a dozen. Vettes are not. This is where the exclusivity come from.
