Default Muffler Eliminators

I just out of the blue went onto ebay and saw some guy selling muffler eliminators for my vette, (94, 6spd) im 20 years old and get bored easy with what i buy and have, so I decided to buy em. They were used and i picked em up for 45.00 I got them in on had them welded on for 100.00 had to do some small modification cause the guy cut them too short off his vette. but when I started it up for the first time. HOLLY S**T..it sounds soo good its rediculous. I get soo many thumbs up and people yelling at me that the car sounds soo good its great. Resonance is a little loud in 3rd gear 4th and 5th, just at low rpms tho, but im young and love it. I love the gargle i hear after shifting. I have alot of cosmetic work done to my vette so the pipes top it off. I sugjest emliminators for the vette if price is an issue. Im sure other pipes sound good but for 45 bucks why the heck not right?... my mods are, 17x9.5 z06 black rims, TPI Intake. air foil, front license plate removal for air intake, tinted windows (15%) hurst shift kit, DVD player. well if anyone has anyquestions about the pipes just write back..

Some people report a slight loss of low-end torque, but I didn't notice that with mine.

They *do* sound good though!

You may be 20, but I'm 67 ( going on 16), and love the sound of my 91 with muffler eliminators. Who wants to hear that ol' radio or wife anyway.

well I did notice a little bit of loss to the performance but i dont care really, I have never gotten it dynoed so ill never know, I dont race or drive super fast but every once in a while ill get on her but the sound is great it turns heads for sure. with the intake and the air foil I dont see a differance really in performance but im sure it helps the car in some small way but i cant tell. But one thing i did that was pretty cool was in the front where the license cover is, I took it off. looked in and saw that if i cut holes in the back shroud, air would get directly into the engine compartment and i would get cool fresh air, but then i thought how the heck am i gunna let air in if i keep the plate on, so i got some fiberglass wrapped my originall license plate in aluminum foil, then coated the origanl with the fiberglass made an exact replica of the orig. and then cut a rectangular whole towards the top right above where it would say "corvette" and then put a screen behind it. It looks sweet and im proud of myself for thinking of something that doesnt cost me much to help my car. I mean i bought the intake and when i really looked at the way vettes are made. i dont get direct air to my intake like a normal car would. i mean im sure air hits it some way but not enough like i want it too.

I love mine as well. I love the sound and I did not notice any power loss. I have an 86 with 2 precats and 1 cat so I actually think it may have helped increase power for me.

I took my old LT1 exhaust and welded elims and a crossover tube via LT4 exhaust. Sounds great, but I currently have my B&Bs on for normal driving.

Default Anyone have a sound/video clip ?

Just wondered if anyone has a sound and or video clip of an LT1 with the muffler eliminators? Just from the comments...it sounds like it might be a really cool thing..but would like to hear them first... I am running Flowmasters now, they came with the car when I bought it, there OK...but the dreaded "drone" at 1800 to 2100 RPM in 6th gear, drives me nuts

Default hey

well to be honest i wouldnt spend 1,200 on the exhuast specially if people told me the car would sound amazing for nearly around 150-350 depends on where u find the eliminators and who puts em on. but as far as clips, i dont have any yet, but on google video theres an older c4. but my personal opion it sounds like an old mustang 5.0 with headers but thats my gues, also we got a vette and were better so...but id go with no mufflers if i were you. cheaper but its legal here i dont know about anywhere else...PS...tint ur windows everyone...also another best thign i ever did, helps make the car look younger,in a kinda wierd way.

My 92 has shortie headers and OE cats and with the elims it was a very raspy growling type of sound with lots of guggle when you back of of it. I liked it, but my B&Bs look better with all that shiney S/S. Now, if I could find a way to chrome the back half of my catback with the elims..........
