Just finished replacing weatherstripping and went for a ride to celebrate. The engine temp went high and pulled over. Coolant is leaking from the heater core/evaporator area. Appears to be the heater core.
89 Coupe, 75k miles. Any advice or tips on replacing it???

Do you work well on your back ? Took me an 1 1/2 hours to re and re and another hour fugging around with the 2 screws on the top of the plastic housing. Leaving those 2 out wouldn't be so bad, but I hate to be a quiter.
Just did this on Saturday on my '88. Took 2 1/4 hours to remove and about 2 1/2 to reinstall. PATIENCE is really required. I had to take a few breaks to calm down, and refocus. I'm 6' 5" and 250 lbs, not easier working in that tiny area. Thank god my wife helped out.
I used the fast guy method and read the angelofdeath method. The fast guy method worked better for my '88.
Thanks for the help. Another job to tackle over the weekend. I am wondering when I can take it out for a ride and not have to worry about some breaking.
