Heater core advice
Just finished replacing weatherstripping and went for a ride to celebrate. The engine temp went high and pulled over. Coolant is leaking from the heater core/evaporator area. Appears to be the heater core.
89 Coupe, 75k miles. Any advice or tips on replacing it???

Search the archives for "the fast guy method"Do you work well on your back ? Took me an 1 1/2 hours to re and re and another hour fugging around with the 2 screws on the top of the plastic housing.
Leaving those 2 out wouldn't be so bad, but I hate to be a quiter.

Just put aside a nice weekend day. Stock a few cold beers. AND be patient!! Yeah, and don't forget to follow Agent86's tips.

Just did this on Saturday on my '88. Took 2 1/4 hours to remove and about 2 1/2 to reinstall. PATIENCE is really required. I had to take a few breaks to calm down, and refocus. I'm 6' 5" and 250 lbs, not easier working in that tiny area. Thank god my wife helped out.
