For the 17 MM allen wrench for the drain/fill plugs on the ZF6, they sell a set of three allen wrench sockets at Autozone for $7. The largest of the three is 17 MM.

Well I guess this counts as a tool.Whenever it's parked outside on a hot day, I raise the rear hatch and stick a Sharpie pen in the switch hole to let the intense heat out and keep the cargo lights off.Now for the quick fix,and some of you are gonna go nuts,I got tired of looking at my chewed up front lower air dam.I also got tired of hearing it scrape even more everytime I went into the driveway. So I took some masking tape and ran a strip just above the chewed up part, about 2" from the bottom. Then I took my little circular trim saw and cut that sucker off following the tape line.Ugly chew marks...gone, curb scaping...gone.It looks better than it did,and it was free.

I use the oposite end/backside of my chisels/punches they are shaped the same and come in differnent sizes for those large allen sizes. Works great with the combination of an adjustable wrench on the flats of the shaft.

Since I'm a Snap on *****
the only lo-buck fixit I can remember is the 1/4" drive extension I cut to length and ground the drive end down enough that it slides through the damper hub. I use it with my regular damper puller IOT remove the hub. ( I slide the extension through the hub into the crank and then use my puller) The drive end was ground just enough to slide into the hub so it supports the puller in line with the crank.

(I already admitted my Snap on addiction, I know it makes NO SENSE that I won't spend that much money on the Kent Moore puller; however, if it had a Snap-on logo I'd probably buy it)

Hi, my name is Mike and I have not bought tools in over 14 days.

If you've ever tried to get a brass pilot bushing out, that had been worn out of round, this is it. 'Cause the grease trick doesn't work.
Get a big ol' bolt that just threads into the brass, and back that puppy out!

I owe you a beer... I did this today and the new belt went on very easy!!! Much easier than the time I tried doing it in a CVS parking lot with a hot engine

oh man the things I've used. I never have the proper tools for anything, so I ghetto everything up.

The other day I angle-grinded a nut off a body panel, then used pliers to yank the screw shaft out. That thing was rusted in (fender well panel screw).

I've used wire coat hangers for exhaust hangers before.

cinder blocks make good jack stands

umm.. can't think of any thing else off the top of my head at the moment.

What your tool boxes have more then a pair of vise grips a pipe wrench and a rubber mallet?

Does using your "free towing for 50 miles" AAA membership to haul your perfectly running BB Pro-street Chevelle and your well plastered self home from the bar count as a "tool" ? I had an older friend that had a slight drinking problem do this more than a few times. When I first saw the Captain Morgan commercial where to 2 drunk guys catch a ride with their pizza delivery guy, I thought they knew my buddy.

Probably saved him a bunch on gas too as it was a thirsty motor that ran on race gas.
