I go for TPiS or Hooker, TPiS usually fits a bit better.

Noticed you are in Cali, none of the longtubes are CARB legal, even with the emissions hookups.

I personally prefer Hooker. Hedman regardless sucks IMO. Also, get them ceramic coated to keep underhood temperatures down.

I have Hooker long tube, ceramic coated and really like the fit and performance, plus they come with emissions connects to comply with California.

Hope this helps :

I'd suggest Hooker Headers #2149 (with the A.I.R. tubes). Since you live in California (and if it's a driver and not a track-only car), you'll need the A.I.R. tubes to pass emissions.

The TPiS headers are nice, and the fit is excellent, but seeing as your car is an L98 with a 6-speed, chances are it's an '89 to '91 model. The Hookers use the newer style EGR tube; the TPiS headers uses the older crimped-style EGR tube, which just means more work for you since your car has the newer EGR connect.

And CFI-EFI is right - this topic has been kicked around so many times on this forum, it would easily rank as one of the most discussed C4 Corvette topics of all time! Do yourself a favour and do a search through the archives. You'll find more information than you'll ever need.

Good luck

Well since you said "bang for the buck" go www.summitracing.com and check out the new Hedman Elites set up for later model L98's with AIR fittings. They are made for D port heads.

Merle over at Exotic Muscle is running a group purchase (ten sets only). Mine will get here in 3-4 wks. They went for $771 and are on sale for $671, if there are any left. I haver heard nothing but good about quality and fit. He and Trevor are great guys to deal with.
