Default Clutch Problems

I recently purchesed a 1986 Convertible. The dealer I bought it from was supposed to put a new clutch in it. I had shifting problems, where the clutch would not release, so that I could shift. I then changed the slave cylinder. Now I can shift, but the clutch releases and grabs at the floor. I am trying to figure out what is wrong, but right now I am lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx RAGS 86

Sounds like it needs to be bled. Be sure to remove the slave and angle it 45* with the bleeder to the top.

If you do have air in your clutch hydraulic system, it will feel ,"spongy", and C4's are famous for the difficulty in removing air from the clutch hydraulic system. Another problem is the high sensitivity to all of the clutch component thicknesses. I had to make a longer clutch rod in order to be able to actuate my clutch. We took .005 off the flywheel and installed a new clutch disc (because the xmsn was out and my 87 had a lot of miles although nothing was worn enough on my OEM clutch).
