So now we have a 1/2 dozen possible part numbers. WTF am I supposed to use?
The part number 9-3064K is the one that you said fits. Its just like the stock one and that one fits right? Of course there are other versions of it like double roller, billet, etc.
Well I've got a factory roller cam on the shelf and a Cloyes 9-1145. I can go verify if the mounting holes line up between the cam gear and cam.
Found it.
The cam gear from CLO-9-1145 matches up fine with factory roller cam. Assuming your cam is true factory style roller I would think this timing chain would work. Of course you know from my thread (that you posted in) that Summit states that it won't fit behind the factory timing cover, but it a few people already posted that info was B.S.
The number ultraviolet posted is what I have. Cloyes also has very good tech. assitance, if you need to talk to someone who actually knows what fits....instead of summit.
"Summit states that it won't fit behind the factory timing cover, but it a few people already posted that info was B.S."
Physically the roller cam / non roller cam timing sets are the same.
The difference is the clearance behind the top sprocket for the two bolts that hold the cam retainer plate on the roller cam engines.Roller cam sprockets are machined differently to clear bolts

It would have been nice if you had posted what year engine we're dealing with. Is yours a Gen I or Gen II? If a Gen II is it a 96 with a Crank Position Sensor?
I just went through this timing chain problem a few months ago when builidng a 388 for my 96 LT1 Vette. The Cloyes True Roller I originally bought wouldn't fit behind the timing chain cover without eliminating the stock water pump and installing an electric pump. I ended up selling it to another Forum member.
Buy one that's specifically for your engine; not one that "should" work.
Read the specifics of the T/C set entirely. Summit's site has a link. Some will say "Will fit 85-99" and that ain't so. I've emailed a few different sites about such mis-information.

I'll know by Friday. I called Cloyes and went through the application with them, 1990 L98, factory roller cam.

BTW Jake,
Following the application guide, I got it wrong, the "experts" at summit got it wrong, and the "experts" at Jegs got it wrong.
There's a lot of choices and it's not clear on the websites of Summit or Jegs which is which.
