Solid Rear project started! WOOHOO! Pics inside . . . .
Nice project.

What did you use to reinforce the rear of the bumper after you sliced all the reinforcing out of the bottom of it?

I tried to do a nice job documenting the build so others could see how a pro would do it (though I'm not so sure my builder was so crazy about me posting all these pics but he's
)
. Its really going to set the inside of your car off, nice choice. An what is that blue bottle sitting beside the car
Does somebody have something up there sleeve
So how does it sound with the muffler's cut? Nice work man, I can't wait to see it Yeah my knee slowed me way down, but in general pretty much everything has taken 5 times as long and cost twice as much as I thought. :o But she WILL be sweet when done.
That's my cup o' teaThe bumper doesn't have a tremendous amount of reinforcing done to it. The cage runs to the back of the bumper, where it gets screwed in, also there are panels on the bottom of the car which bolt both to the cage and to channel-stock that runs along edge of the bumper - you can see how cage goes back to bumper here:
How panels on the bottom of the car bolt up:
What it looks like from rear:
There are actually quite a few more screws now because my fuel cell leaked and dripped gas all over the panels and the rear bumper got real wavy and the only solution was to put a lot more screws in it. I actually think it looks better with more screws believe it or not, looks a little more trick that way.
All that being said, I can indeed see a "slight" bit of sag in the rear when looking at the pics of the car from side, it's more noticeable in pics than in person. But it's there. Not sure if much could have been done other than put screws in the sides of the body which obviously I wasn't going to do. I think it was somewhat inevitable since the car has been back-halved. Once I get the front end back down it will be even less noticeable I think.

I have been working on the wiring slowly, have got the car almost completely rewired, will definitely be done with that in next few months and then it will be time for interior. Will definitely be on the streets this spring!
Electricals are all done pretty much and I'm starting to drive the car around a bit to work out any kinks. Once I feel comfortable with all that it's time to put the interior in.
I'll be at the CF Cruise-In and the C4 Gathering though, interior or no!

Seats are Cobra Misano's, 30th Anniversary edition I think it was - I bought them from Sube Sports out of SoCal
Pretty sure the pattern you see on mine (i.e. the diamond stitching) was a 1 year thing, I believe they were only making 30.
But they definitely still make the Misano's themselves.
2010 was a long year, just crazy busy with work and kids, things are finally slowing down a little and hopefully I can get this thing on the road. It's driveable right now, but still need to do the interior!
