Solid Rear project started! WOOHOO! Pics inside . . . .
, it'd be cool to see a C4 take the cake and see all this hard work come to fruition on NATIONAL television! Awesome thread and build - I've been reading it since the beginning as a lot of people have. It seriously looks awesome!
Keep us updated on the start-up,
Jonathan
.I think I would have gone with the black Aeromotive pump ,I have the red one and I mixed C-17 and what was suposed to be E-10 turned out to be E-22 1/2 and it ate my seals in the pump.Aeromotive rebuilt it for free because I was a DA and did not read the directions, and said I need to get the black pump it will run gas or E-85 ,it's only about $175.00 more
Nice build ,what engine are you going to run?
and trick as this car is gonna be (and nowhere near as quick or reliable at the strip either). That's the A1000, what pump are you referring to?
The A1000 is what the Aeromotive guys recommended I go with since this car will be heavily street driven and they said with the A1000 you can run it on the street without using their voltage flow regulator device.
Engine is just gonna be my old heads/cam 350 for now, no money left for anything else! But frankly I need to spend a lot of time learning and sorting out the 4 link before I add much power anyway. But even with that motor the car should be tremendously quick.
Next year I'm gonna do a twin turbo, I'll have this same shop help me do all the plumbing for that. So for now the Boost gauge is just for show.
Primer is I think just "Hot Rod Grey" or something like that, I forget the exact actual paint color we used though I could dig it up (I think somethign like Dark Graphite yada yada yada), but there are several that kind of have that gunmetal type color.
BUT, what makes it "pop" like that is the clear coat - make sure to do that! Same thing with the clear, just a rattle can.
It's actually pretty amazing how good it looks, it looks like a body shop did it!

I do have one other question though - do you have your pump mounted on rubber isolators? That's one thing I have thought about as well.
We "might" have it running Thursday evening, only real hold up right now is the driveshaft, trying to figure out what we need to do there.
But not much else to post now because it's just about done!
Right now I'm planning on driving the car home on Thursday night. We just need to get the fuel pump going and I'm trying to figure out a way to temporarily use a stock C4 driveshaft just to get the car going but I think I have that figured out now so hopefully I'll have her home by this weekend!!!!!!

Just so you will know it will fit in the gas tank.
That's the only thing we are waiting on now, everything else is done.
I'm out of town next week so I should be driving it home Sat/Sun most likely and I'll get some more pics up.

you didn't think we thought you could do all that to your car and keep your old engine did you?
You are going to have to put enough power in that thing to scare yourself. Otherwise, it's not worth it.
BTW, when it flies faster than my airplane, let me know.

Most guys do the nasty motor first, then they can't really use it because their chassis can't take it, I didn't want to go that route. This way I can be beating the hell out of it in the meantime while I decide what motor I want. I'm thinking maybe a big cube LSX motor right now but who knows, I like the sound of LT1 twin turbo as well.
Here are 2 I took tonight before leaving my chassis builder's shop, the car is actually filthy so I'll try to snap some more tomorrow in the sunlight but you can get an idea of the stance and overall look of the car now:
