Quote: Good luck with the project...from the 20 Wally's on the shelf it looks like he may know a thing or two about drag racing...lol..
You beat me to it... The row of Wally's speaks volumes. I feel so inadequate having only 1 Wally

Quote: hey,

also let me know if you plan on using the stock brakes, i can get the same bracket i made for my car made for you and that could save you some $$$ i would say around 500$ for new brakes... let me know
Thanks but I'm going with a Wilwood kit most likely.

Quote: Why didn't you go with Ski_dwn_it's conversion for the rear, he said his is cheaper and bolts right in?
I have red l98's old D44 and it has served me well .I have run in the 9's all season and haven't broken anything yet.Unless you install a dragster
cage around your head you will only be certified to 8.50 et.I paid $105.00 for Mike Rice div7 head to certify my chassis.
I know the piece of mind will be good for you when you are going down the track.I think of something breaking every time I go down the track
Good luck and looks good so far
I wanted to do a 9" and don't think he had it available at the time.

Also I knew I wanted to tub the car to fit as big of a tire as I wanted to so his stuff just didn't make sense for me. There is no way my wheel combo could work without tubbing. Plus we are doing a LOT more than just the rearend.

For others Jesse's kit sounds like a great setup!

Quote: I like the photo's! Those are so insightful about the sub structure of these things.

I can't wait to see this progress more! Good luck!!!

Yeah I thought a lot of folks would like seeing it like that - ain't gonna be much structure left after today. Those frame rails are going as well.

How exciting! Good for you! After awhile it gets tiresome reading posts such as : what is the best cheapest ......(fill in the blank). It is refreshing when one bites the bullet and says, "the heck with it. It's my money and I want it!" There is nothing so comforting as to go "well armed" to the track with good equipment

Wow...quite a project.

You're a brave man, I'd be sweatin' BIG TIME w/ my car all apart like that. I'm sure the final product will be awesome though. Nice wheels! Can't wait to see some pics once she's done.

LOL. I'd be sweatin' if I wasn't sure I had found the right guy to do the job. If you look at his website you'll understand why. My stuff is a cakewalk for him!

Now if only you had bought my wheels maybe I could find a way to pay for all this . . . .

Well I could buy them but then I'd have to sell them right away to pay for my divorce.

The good news with going to a pro is they are are time, on target pricewise (really no more expensive than anyone else), quality is "****", and they put in so much cool stuff we normal mortals never even think of, and its all part of the service.

There is a local guy in my town who moved up from LA, Dave Tuttle, who is working on my altered roadster. He is magic with metal and years of knowing what works and what doesn't. I have no doubt your guy is at that level.

Agreed. Just didn't want to mess around and be going down the track at 130 and wondering if everything is good!
