I am parting out my C4 and have taken the doors off to sale. I clipped the wires going into the door and left about 1ft. of all wires. My question is, it would be much cheaper and safer if i could ship the doors with the windows down. Is there a way i can manually get the windows down or anyway i can "hotwire" the door and power the windows down? Any advice would be much appreciated.
I would think you attach a couple of wires from a 12v sorce to Hot and ground on the door wires and they would go down...This is for my 86 in the door wires ..Look for a Brown one for the Left side down and a Tan one for the Right side..These are the Hot wires...Any Black is ground..Give it a whirl
If all else fails, take the casing off the motor and manually turn the motor winding with your hands. Push the window down at the same time. Hopefully the winding will lower the window instead of simply unscrewing itself.
I was looking at Agent86's schematic and it shows the colors of the wires that go to the motors. You need to apply voltage to the Lt Blue and Tan wire to operate the RH door. Reverse the voltage on the wires if it doesn't move. Same thing with the LH door. Dk Blue and Brown wires. This is just the wiring for the windows. There could be similar color wires for the other stuff that's in the doors, probably not but don't be surprised if you see the same color wire more than once. Be great if there wasn't. Good luck.
