I'm there! I am about to put a new 383 and possibly tranny, in My 1987 convertible.
Will the experts chime in here? I think I should remove the engine and tranny at the same time. I feel certain that I need to remove the X-frame underthe convertible's frame.
Ihavefactory shop manuals but wanted to talk to the guys who have been there and done that!

rotating asym. should be here tomarrow. off to the machine shop with the block and hopfully headed back in the car within a week or so.
i deff think I'm going to need some picks from yall after the block asym. is back in the car.

Engine is finally together, would yall install the trans back into the car and then install the engine? Or would you do the engine and trans as one? Will the engine and trans even go in as one unit?
