I'm there! I am about to put a new 383 and possibly tranny, in My 1987 convertible.
Will the experts chime in here? I think I should remove the engine and tranny at the same time. I feel certain that I need to remove the X-frame underthe convertible's frame.
Ihavefactory shop manuals but wanted to talk to the guys who have been there and done that!
Thanks Take Care and Be Safe, -John

It's a lot easier to remove the tranny without the motor in your way, and it's a lot easier to remove the motor without the tranny hanging on and getting in the way.
Engine is finally together, would yall install the trans back into the car and then install the engine? Or would you do the engine and trans as one? Will the engine and trans even go in as one unit?
