guys, something to think about: before you decide to buy a cog setup, make sure that there is a belt to fit your setup. There aren't as many sizes of cog belt as in 8 rib. In my situation I don't even know if I can find a belt that will fit (I'm using a carroll setup with a 3.00" upper)

Guys i know whatyou speak of about not being able to find a belt. But i have not changed belt size since i put the cog set up on but the crank pulley size is a 7.o inche crank and the same belt i used with the 32t i used with the 28t and believe it or not in actually fits better with 28t. The belt i am currently using is a gates powergrip gt2 part no.15128mgt30 but to the guy who said he was having trouble finding correct size belts a company called b.d.s. Can either get one or have one made.

nice, bds is close to my house.

The common sizes that I know of are the 1280(50.4), the 1392(55.68) and a 1440(56.69). I believe I'm using a 51" right now so the 1280 will probably be too short and the 1392 too long. Anyone know of a size in between the two?

ttt for updates...

as a side note, they do make a 1304 belt which would work with my setup. I'm in...

Called BDS but no dice on the belt from them. I did a google search and found several places offering cut to width cog belts in the 1304 size. I got the idea off the corral(the mustang website). I have a thread going over there on the cog stuff.

Also, tommorrow I'm going to follow up with ATI and see if our ati 6+8 dampers are a two piece design. Several of theres are 2 piece which would mean we can just undo the outer shell and replace it with a serpentine/cog setup. However I don't know if our ati pieces are.

jason's power transmission products can build you any length/width blower belt you need .you have a choice between the regular high torque drive belt or the premium kevlar belt..

cool. I just called ati on the crank pulley. I'll call jason's for the belt once it's time.

Is this their website?...

Do I need a commercial account?

Count me in on one of these sprags.

comes in any configuration you want (as long as its 45 tooth)

makin-u-shiver seems to have the smaller pulley figured out. Would like to get my hands on it to try it out.

the only thing that's holding me back is the machinist and he has not had to much free time to work on my stuff lately.I went by his place last Friday and he says very soon he can get these things done .You will have the first one i make for the vortech .On a side note the sprag i was testing on the mustang is still working great .He even had his car dynoed it made 440 rwhp but he was kind of disappointed , i thought that was very impressive .I will keep you posted about the sprag pulley ...

While 440 whp is alot of power and in my opinion plenty for a street car. 440 whp with a 347 and a d1 isnt that much. Not sure what heads pistons boost etc. he has but I have a stock 302, stock heads, a very mild cam, and trick flow street intake and my car dynoed at 456 at the wheels with 17lbs of boost.

Makn U Shiver I am still interested in a setup and just so you know I broke down and bought a chevy. 1996 Camaro SS.

I'll probably be at Sema next week. We'll see if there's any other ones out.

Sounds good about the sprag; I'm excited! What do you think is the smallest you'll be able to make this thing?

ttt. Any updates on this thing? My ati crank which was supposed to take 4-6 weeks should be delivered soon. I'd love to buy one but if it isn't available, I'll try to make my own. I just need to hunt down the sprag part number.

I found the company that makes the sprag. I just thougt that he had everthing in the works and that we might be seeing some product. Lets wait for an update. If this doesn't look like it's going to happen I'll pm you and maybe we can figure something out.
