Schrade? PCM yet? DAMMIT these shippers take a long time!
With the PCM possibly being the big problem, I'm glad Chevy mounted them on a bracket mounted so high up and easy to access that you could swap it out with your hands tied behind your back.
Spark plugs? Those are impossible to reach. Ahhh...but the PCM! That's a cinch...

It gets better than that...
Monday at 5:15 PM, I called CarQuest near here, told my guy there I'd pay max freight to get it 'next day', unless it had already left FLA.
Blue Streak just called ME (they thought they had the wrong #)
My PCM is picked up supposedly.

Should I hold my breath? What's the definition of a 'DAY'? Because Venus goes around the sun faster than it turns on its own axis, which means a Venus DAY IS LONGER THAN A Venus YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is it any smoother? You don't sound super excited. Granted, the process obviously was a bee-yotch.
Sooo...in the end how many PCM's do you have now? Can I get one for about tree fiddy?
It runs like a top. Got to 228, kicked in the fan, and never stumbled once.
It strung out the revs on the shift, like my old '87 did when I unplugged the TPS with it runnin', but after a few miles, it was shifting the way it's supposed to (just like the '87 did on that too).
Now, how do we set up cooling? Dryer ducting? Harness extension to interior? We can't go through this again.
The dealer and the CarQuest guys each have a standing order for another one. First one to come thru gets the cash - I told 'em both that...
Blue Streak yesterday told me they WOULD try to repair mine, but it would take some time - that's why they let go the one they had. I could get it back, which would be okay with me, cause I know they did this one right that I got now.
Did'ja have to reprogram the PCM? Someone told me it needs to know your VIN#...is that something someone can do with a laptop, PCM cable, and OBDI software?

They did it at Blue Streak with my VIN - plug n play. Cardon doesn't do it I don't think.
I think you probably could do the flash yourself. It's in the chip; not the board. Right? My board looked like any pc motherboard - no cooked capacitors - nothing.
Makes me wonder if all I needed was a chip, and not a whole PCM.
