Wow Jsup is that you?

Ummm.......in case you didn't notice, me and the other adults on here are trying to have a civil constructive disussion about my engine project which was built by an engineer by the way and most likely is too blame. If you need to resort to name calling, cursing, spinning the facts higher than even those stupid sprint car engines you keep comparing are street engines too, then do it elsewhere please. I'm not stupid enough to be baited by you so don't bother and besides, you just showed your true colors so no more needs to be said.

For someone who supposedly spent allot of time in class, you sure don't have allot of it....

I have now read a total of 4 of your posts and figured out that you're about the biggest tool that has ever graced the pages of this forum.

You're an engineer? Great, that means nothing. Ever hear the term educated beyond your intelligence? I'm good with cars, I'm good with computers, that doesn't give me an instant pass to greatness playing football.

The truly intelligent will admit when they don't know. You, sir, claim to know everything, which proves you know nothing.

You can look at your plugs, if "alot" of oil is getting by the offending area will be exposed with a oil caked plug.

The piston can suck a bunch into the cylinder, no doubt..

Hmmm. Don't have a lot class... I don't know about that; what I do know is when I post factual, high level information none of you are ever around to discuss it. It's funny that time and time again, I'm told that "my experiences have no relevance on a street engine"; funny but all the ones I have sent out the door didn't come back. They didn't have any of these various issues I read about... But hey, you guys can keep pushing the ideas that you're pushing and I'll keep pumping out my engines.

Now, I hate to tell you guys; I never brought up my educational background in any other context than the add credibility to my posts about airflow; having an aerospace engineering background helps a little when designing a cylinder head port. I also hate to break it to you but there are a ton of people that contact me in person because they see what goes on here. If you don't like the fact that when you come online and post engine advice without putting down the disclaimer stating the you yourself have not built performance engines and I call you on it; what did you expect people to do? Just except everything you say? I don't require or expect any of what I post to be taken seriously; you can debate and pick apart what I post all you want, but I will do the same (that's how this is suppose to work). Oh and Nathan, to call me a tool is something funny; I'm willing to bet I have put together a lot more engines than you; and a great deal of more powerful ones as well. You can call me names all you want; dispute any information I have posted about engines you want. I'll be waiting; you guys claim to be able to teach me so much, lets start the lessons. I apologize if you find my posts abrasive; I feel that this has gone on long enough so show me how smart you are; this is your chance.

Unfortunately we would teach you, but you're not willing to listen. The best people on the forum are wrong from time to time. You have it in your head that you're right all the time, which means that you're a lost cause. Get over yourself.

You seem to claim that you don't need or want our praise, and that people come and ask you questions all the time. I ask then, why are you here? If you are such a precious commodity that everybody is flocking too and you don't need our acceptance, why don't you just leave us to rot?

BTW, when did I say I had built more engines than him? When did I say he hadn't built more powerful engines than me? He's putting words in my mouth, and that, is the definition of a tool. You're right, it is funny that I call you a tool.

How about a lesson in tactfulness? We could start there, but it'll take a while from the looks of it.

Well, he'll have 6 months to think about it before he comes around here again. It's tragic really.

I sensed a vacation coming for Deakins....he practically begged for one with the last two threads he started.

I didnt even bother responding to the one he started today knowing it would likely be locked or boneyarded before I hit send....

I bet Corvette Guru gets an earfull tonight....

-Tony

PS....I have some interesting dyno data I may present in another thread and Im still working on a round of major testing with various heads on the same shortblock but due to all the shows (SEMA, PRI, etc.) and a list a mile long for R&D projects its taken a bit longer than I would have liked. Hopefully have some data in 30 days but it might be pushed further back depending on the customers engine and his personal situation and availability.

Everyone's getting sick of it over there too.

It's not meant to be a place for CF (ex)members to vent.

Maybe he'll tick enough people off and get kicked over there too.

It sounds like he was banned for a while ?

Sad thing about it, he is a guy that probably has a lot to offer to this forum..... he just needed to figure out a new delivery methodology.... oh well, whadda you gonna do ? I will say the clear attacks on AFR were at the point of almost being suspicious..... Why ? I dunno.....

Vette Threat, sorry, I have nothing new to add to your engine woe's beyond what has already been said ! I do hope you figure it out and solve it as painlessly as possible.

cheers,
Beach Bum

Not related to the drop in pressure, but perhaps related to the blue smoke / oil usage....

One thing I noticed was that you're using the Edelbrock LT4 intake. IIRC, that intake matches the "7777" GM LT4 off road gaskets. The AFR website specifically says to not use those gaskets (or an intake matched to those gaskets) on the AFR 195 Eliminator Competition heads.

The port mismatch may be causing the issues.

Know what I think? JSUP = Deakins. I bet they are the same person, just from seeing how they both like to talk crap to others and both have a superiority complex.

If they think this forum has nothing to offer, why do they waste their time here posting the longest, hot air posts I have ever seen? They both need to be banned from this forum if they can't play nice. Or we could all just ignore them.

Back on subject:
How did you prime the oil system?
LTX's are really unusual in that respect, needing to spin the pump with a drill prior to installing the intake.

Also I just saw this:

http://www.gmhightechperformance.com.../photo_23.html

Valvoline VR1 20W50 oil is dumped in through the lifter valley, and the oil filter is screwed in prior to priming the oil pump. This often forgotten step is essential in protecting the engine during first start-up, and can lead to premature failure if not performed.
